Bringing this old thread back - I noticed one of the seals on my R1T coming off exactly like this back in August/September. I took it to Rivian, and over the span of a few weeks and a few different visits to the SC, they replaced the seal I think three times. It would start coming off within a...
A state of charge plot for a trip - that shows a predicted curve for the trip, and overplots your actual along with a new projection from there. It's the only thing I like better in our Teslas.
(Not my picture but this is what I want)
Cold bluing is most commonly for steel. That aluminum black stuff is going to look like butt on something as big as the crossbars.
Some spray paint or plasti dip are probably your best options unless you want to completely disassemble them and get them powder coated.
We designed and built our house ~6 years ago. We provisioned for two level 2 chargers in the garage (one 60A, one 80A), both of which have chargers installed now (we also have a third charger in a detached garage, we're a three-EV household).
Non-EV specific things to recommend:
- Hot/cold...
I picked up my truck end of 2022 (mid 14k VIN) and had to do quite a bit of grinding to get my sliders on. It's not just a small window end of '23 to early '24...
But that said, my sliders have been on for almost a year now and I still love them.
I have a 4" drop receiver that I use with my 1up rack (with two bike racks on it) on my R1T. I did this mostly for tailgate clearance, with the tailgate down it JUST clears the rack. Works great. I wasn't concerned with rear camera visibility, I generally only have the rack on when I'm...
We have a Model 3, Model X, and R1T. Our kids are still years away from driving (oldest is 8yr), but I often day dream about first cars for them.
A Model 3 is a pretty care-free car, but it's still pretty quick for a new driver (and expensive to repair/insure). Have you considered an older...
I use super old Yakima hully rollers, up on a DIY bed rack. I have sit on top kayaks that weight a ton, and often go kayaking with just my two small children so I have to be able to load and unload the kayaks solo. There's no way I'd be able to do that safely up onto the roof without the...
Fun trip! I have spent lots of time around Escalante and hiked many of the slot canyons down Hole in the Rock, though I haven't been in a few years. I think there is a hotel in town with level 2 chargers now, it's on my list to go back!
I just returned from my white rim trip. I’m not going to bother with a full trip report, so I’ll just tack on to this thread.
It was epic. We drove down from the Seattle area, and had zero issues charging all the way there and back (mostly Electrify America, with a couple of magic dock...
No interest from me, but it's nice to see some legitimate DIY work that isn't just a bunch of FDM printed junk.
Signed, another DIYer not too far from you. I'll keep my eye out (I'm in Kenmore)
As others said, it's for the child seat latch loops. I didn't think they made it significantly easier, and it seemed like it was going to smoosh the seats up more than the latch buckles alone, so I tossed these in the garbage.
