Rivian App 3.12.0 out for iOS

So far so good. Really impressed with the natural communication with the R1T to ask for directions, weather, etc. My only disappointment is losing Amazon music voice control.

I use Alexa for Amazon music every day. What recourse is there to play from my Amazon music account now? No, native app, so out of luck?

Streaming over Bluetooth from our phones appears to be the only option.

I also use Alexa for music daily. Its really the only voice feature I have used with any regularity.

I made it an entire 2 blocks from my house this morning running the new assistant before my children grabbed pitchforks and torches and mutinied due to the lack of ability to request their music. Oddly it would run my audible account with my current book when they asked for music.

Needless to say I had to pull over, deactivate the Rivian Assistant and reset Alexa before order was restored. Hopefully amazon music is something they can make work otherwise the Rivian assistant will be something i don't utilize very often.

Really impressed so far - yes it's not solving world peace, but the blend of AI assistant and car automation is way ahead of other things. As someone with bad ADHD who craves learning but can't focus enough to sit and read, it's perfect for me when driving --

Rather than just listening to music and overthinking while driving, today I dropped the kids off at school, then on my 20 min drive home I held a human-style two-way conversation WITH MY CAR on what is argentic AI, why is it important and what's next, so I could sound smart on an upcoming work call.... HUGE for me!

My wife could care less about text messaging via the assistant. Shes a no-go on the assistant. Play my music is all she needs as an analog driver with an EV.

For my R1T, I'm currently 75% no go on the assistant as well. We'll see.

It seems to work pretty well. After telling the truck to "navigate home", I told it to play a specific artist on Spotify, and it did.

I saw some posts on Reddit and maybe here that if you turn off Rivian Assistant & switch back to Alexa for the 'assistant' stuff, Amazon Music returns.

Maybe there's some weird contract language that says Amazon Music can only be integrated with Alexa in the vehicle? It's a weird omission for sure.

That’s pretty self-entitled. You understand that connect + gives you “priority” but doesn’t make you first, right? There is also a good reason(s) why updates are released in batches as opposed to all at once. Get over yourself or at least don’t show it publicly
