If the discount is the price of the item, then that’s not a discount. I’m not sure I really understand what they’re giving away.

The charger is $400, you add it to the order, then as it totals they give you a $400 credit to offset the cost. Net is zero, you probably still are charged the tax, in CA tax is usually calculated before the discounts are applied.

Especially the CCS adapter is really handy for long stretches when there aren’t superchargers around. We always keep one in the Tesla and it’s saved us on a few occasions up the PCH. I was planning on buying those 3 items anyway so it’s nice to get them free. I’ll pretend that I bought them and got Launch Green paint for a little over 1k.

I spoke with NYSERDA - Rivian is not considered a car dealer in NY. They have not filed with NYDMV to be a dealership... They are currently listed as "vehicle showrooms".... Rivian has to file with NYDMV to be a car dealer in NY to be eligible for any rebates...
