With Rivian starting leasing back in November 2023, I’m guessing a lot of folks who did 24-month terms will be coming up on their lease end this November.

I’m curious if anyone has started the process for a lease return or lease pull ahead to get into a new Rivian. If so, how did it go?

Also, has anyone tried doing a lease buyout/trade-in with Rivian to get into a newer model? I’d love to hear what that experience was like, especially around trade-in values, lease equity, or any incentives offered.

Looking forward to hearing what others have run into.

+1, I'm in the same situation. I reached out about a month ago, and to get the same model/features with the same lease payment I would have had to put almost 8k down.

Oh wow. What are your circumstances? Are you approaching lease end or trying to trade in early to get into a newer model?

Was looking to trade in early to get a newer model. I have a feeling closer to Sept 30th, better deals will appear.

Rivian has no pull ahead program since all the financing is done through chase. Your options are wait till end of lease and pay disposition fee or make all payments now and return early. You are still responsible for disposition fee. My R1T lease ends in Nov of this year and I will pay off and return early when I take delivery of my R2.

Why not just trade in for the R2? You’re so close to lease end. If you’re under 6 months remaining it shouldn’t be a problem to just trade in to Rivian.

And roll in the Negative equity... LOL you have to be crazy. Rivian does not work like other car companies. Since they don't have in house financing you either have to complete the lease or absorb the negative equity. The car has a residual of $55k and they offered $43k....
