Unless someone took a screenshot from back in the day (@godfodder0901), not sure we have proof, but the website did say the current vehicles being sold would have the Gen2 abilities until summer 2022 or 2023. Why else would they have cameras inside? Then stopped installing interior cams when they realized it was a waste of money, until Gen2.
I don't have a screenshot but they 100% did sell it as having Gen2 abilities and that claim was still being made after deliveries started.

"Microfactories" are going to be operated by a handful of Optimus robots working under canopies in Walmart parking lots, like those glass chip repair guys. Free labor and good sales numbers for the robots, and when they need a break they can just walk over to the EA station and "recharge".

So tesla owners want to be riders not drivers? The Count likes to drive the Royal R1S. Riding is only for the back of a Bentley or an East St. Louis squad car.
Narrow minded. You know who doesn't want to be drivers and will line up by the millions begging Tesla to please take their money. When (not if) but when FSD becomes "unsupervised" to the public...already is "unsupervised" for some of their cybercab fleet now.
Examples:
- All the millions of parents who have to wake up extra early (instead of sleeping in a bit) on a Sat or Sun to get their teens to their part time jobs at McD's or stay up late on a Fri or Sat (can't relax and have a drink) got to go pick up teen from after late shift at McD's. Parents become part time taxi drivers shuttling the kids to little league, the friends houses, the mall ect..
- Every fast food restaurant in the world delivering pizzas and other food, Uber eats revenue going to become Tesla's revenue.
- You and your partner need "2" cars, 2 insurances and two maintenance. Imagine a car that can drive back home after they drop off one of you to work or wherever you need to go and now comes back and you have it.
- You need 2, 3 or however many extra cars for all your licensed teens. Imagine one car they can all share because after it drops off one kid off it can be summoned and used by the next kid wherever they are.
- Every old folks home will have a fleet of these cars. Instead of a single short bus that a dozen seniors share to go places together on a schedule they can instead share the fleet of cars to go to doctor appiontments, shopping, visiting the grand kids ect.
- Imagine having the extra safety (already statistically 8x better than dumb humans) all those extra sensors "additionally" keeping an eye on things and ready to react faster than you ever could and reducing the risk of collisions and death from drunks, people high on legal drugs, high on illegal drugs, or just other distracted drivers.

The Count really doesn't see the gravity of the $$$,$$$,$$$,$$$ that are going to transfer from Uber, Lyft and every other transportation company from their pockets into Tesla's pockets. LOL

Drunks would also love an actual FSD "unsupervised" vehicle. Get plastered, crawl in to the back seat and say "home James" where they can safely sleep it off in their own driveway. Legally never even got behind the wheel.

Bank robbers would love it too, no need to hire a getaway driver and one less mouth to squeal o_O

Like The Count said, some people want to be riders not drivers. As you already know, The Count isn't one of them. In his world reasonable people can disagree without insulting each other. Consider joining The Count's world. There's more cow bell.

You'll never be legally allowed to be the "person in control" of an HF vehicle and be drunk/DUI-worthy.

Key word is 'control'. An empty car sent off to pick up the kids has nobody in control. How is that any different than a car with a drunk in the back seat? I lf one is ok, the other will be too

It’s not legal now. That might change later when the country gets its collective shit together re: full autonomy. Then it will take just a few idiots for NHTSA to mandate breathalyzers for self-driving, consumer-owned cars.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Absolutely. He’s been promising a more affordable EV than the Model 3 since Battery Day 2020 (almost 6 years ago!) At one point the Model 3 sold for $35K, so this cheaper model was supposed to be $25K. First there was a rendering that was associated with hiring someone to design the vehicle in China, then it was eventually going to be made at Giga Mexico (which also never happened), then it was going to debut along with the CyberCab as a drivable version, then it was axed entirely in favor of the CyberCab, because Tesla FSD was going to take over the world, and make car ownership obsolete. 🙄

Now they’re trotting this rumor out again to goose the stock. It’s not happening. What will actually happen is that Tesla and Space X will merge. The Roadster will be released by Space X, so Elon doesn’t have to give free ones to all of the people who earned one through their referral program. Tesla will only make autonomous vehicles and robots going forward, and throw billions upon billions of dollars at AI, which isn’t even a profitable business at this point.

Buy a vehicle for what it has at time of purchase. If it gets better like Rivians and Tesla do, great. If it doesn't, don't act surprised or disappointed.

That's the way it has been with almost every consumer device in history, and certainly automobiles ... until Tesla. When I bought my Rivian, this was my exact attitude. The features were what they were the day I took delivery. Be satisfied with that or don't buy it. Any later improvements are fresh icing on the cake.
