I didn't read any manuals, but on my test drive it was confusing as hell. I actually couldn't get it to stop blowing in my face. No matter how I dragged the vent settings, it would snap back to blowing right in my eyeballs. Given it was 100 degrees during the drive, it was the most unpleasant experience. I'm very technically capable, so it's either really unintuitive to use and I had some user error, or it was bugged. Either way, why it snapped back to the center position and wouldn't take my adjustment really annoyed the hell out of me. I can't imagine this is how it should be, but I couldn't get it to change. The only way to see while driving was turning the air off completely...

Assuming R2 is like R1 with 2 settings this is a way better user experience. 2 quick selections and have air directly on or surround. I now hate my manual vent cars lol. I was skeptical at first, but is a great feature.
