OP-If you do get the R2, give the R3 a look when it comes available. The way Rivian is headed, I bet it will be a great car and in some ways similar to the Ioniq5. All the best!

Bankruptcy is not the issue or concern. Its the inconvenience of having to deal with issues.

One of the key advantages of EVs is the low maintenance, care and feeding of it. If the vehicle is troublesome then it defeats one of the major benefits.

Like I said, I just don't understand why when there are so many options out there today. Since it works for you, great and enjoy.
But if those "other options" were as attractive or provided the same value presumably they would have been the choice for at least one of them.

Your "other option" is another persons "no way".

I can not wait to get rid of my Ioniq 5. Since I had Teslas previously, the Ioniq 5 is really annoying in a bunch of little ways and some big ways. The "little" ways-- why do I have to accept some silly legal text on my screen every single time I drive? Why do I have to turn on full regen every single time I put it in drive? Why can't the service center just fix my darn android auto/apple carplay usb-c problem instead of saying "welp, we can't get it to fail in the shop". The bigger problem though: The software and app are lightyears behind tesla/rivian, my ICCU failed at 17k miles and it was in the shop for well over a month. I'm over 6 months into dealing with getting compensated for that.

Obviously I liked the Ioniq 5 enough to buy it-- but having it as a daily driver for 2 years it has annoyed me every single time I've driven it, every day, in one way or another due to having better cars previously (Tesla M3 / Y and Chevy Equinox EV).

My Oct/Nov R2 can't come soon enough.

The OP never said or even implied in the original post that he considered anything else. I only go by what is written and not assume what the person may or may not have done. Its only in the latter posts that indicate OP did look others and preferred R2.

I realize some people only buy certain brand and the household has different models or even the same models from the same maker (e.g., BMW, Honda, MB, Porsche and so on). The way I think about things is that you only know what you know, and you don't know what you don't know. So I prefer discoveries - good or bad.
