According to cars.com it sold. I had it on my saved list and I got the notification that it had been sold.
Some fool paid $20k over? Guess a sucker is born every minute.

Ladies and gentleman, our first R2 flip has been spotted by a private seller at an asking price of $79,900. Dune R1T in the background.

More the fool the person for paying the premium!

Unfortunately we don't know the actual sales price. We know it was listed $20k over MSRP but we don't know what the actual negotiated price was.

One thing people seem to overlook, and maybe because it depends on what state you live in, but many people do not have to pay sales tax on a private sale. My R2 (HMG, Black Crater Signature) with NV sales tax was $66,108. So although $79,900 is $20k over MSRP, had I purchased that one from a private seller, the overpay is actually under $14k.

So if someone was able to negotiate that down to say $70k and they live in a state that doesn't tax private sales, it might not be that bad of a foolish overpay. I still wouldn't do it, but to each their own.
