'22 R1T with Gen1 Powered Tonneau Cover Issues (looking for feedback from others)

Happy Friday. So was curious if any others with '22 R1Ts had their powered tonneau covers proactively replaced by the SCs before they actually failed. Know that there wasn't necessarily any campaigns/recalls for those gen 1 powered tonneau covers but wanted to know if the SC offered to repair/replace if you had your truck in there for other reasons. Mine wasn’t proactively replaced. Bought mine used and it got stuck at time of purchase. Hoping yours breaks within warranty so you can get the new one haha - new one is much better

I reached out to Rivian to schedule the tonneau cover upgrade. They did not reach out to me. The cover never broke or got stuck before it was upgraded. All covered under warranty.

I contacted Rivian prior to a scheduled appointment in May but didn't get around to having the service done until September. First, had to wait for parts and then to fit my schedule.

Mine did not fully break or get jammed, but it would intermittently open partway and get stuck. I added this to a list of other issues at a service appointment in the spring and it was replaced under warranty.

My V1 tonneau would get stuck (partly open)on repeated occasions and was eventually replaced with V1.5. That one was better, lasted longer but eventually suffered the same intermittent failures. This past year, they replaced it with the V2 with narrower slats and it is much better (quieter, smoother). All covered under warranty. No matter what version, you'll want to be good about clearing off debris before trying to open these tonneaus. An after-warranty replacement will cost you $$$.

Rivian will not proactively provide you with V2 cover unless you buy the upgrade from the shop, BUT if it catastrophically fails, you may get a V2 under warranty (Rivian's discretion on what you get). Nearly every post on this subject has indicated that Rivian is honoring its warranties pretty well. They were rebuilding or adding the stiffer spring for years, but for me, when it jammed hard with slats stuck, they replaced it entirely with the V2 cover, and there's a huge improvement. It is now buttery smooth and quiet. The irony was that I was sitting at 59K miles when this happened...
