This may be a stupid question, from an, as yet, non Rivian owner, but doesn't the truck have sensors and warning alarms when you are approaching something a bit too close?
It does.... But in my case, there are weeds in front of the neighbor's garage (they don't use it for their car) that throws things off, and I don't trimm up the weeds as often as I should.

In other words, most likely all my fault on this one... Unless someone DID decide to hit my truck!

Put me down for $847 to fix.

And I’m in the camp of it was some sort of ball that hit the tailgate.

FYI. The tailgate part (without paint or brand logos) from Rivian is about $950.

I got hit with waterballoon last night that flexed front bumper creating cracks in paint/clearcoat. No rubber in sight?

Although it looks way worse, yours is probably cheaper to fix!

Did it affect your tailgates ability to open? I've had substantial problems ever since backing into another vehicle - and then into a tree in a strip mall while trying to maneuver into a Tesla charging station - and then (very slowly, with no alarms sounding) into a car parked crosswise right behind my truck. The latches just got changed again and hopefully they stay fixed and I don't back into anything else!

My guess is a guy with some lumber or tree branches sticking out backed into the driveway to turn around. Kept backing until he felt something.

Kind of like plastic surgery, PDR is AMAZING when done right. $550 for that dent.

you backed into 3 things trying to get into a charging station?

You are who all of us are afraid of trying to park near us!

Did you have any deliveries? Amazon van, etc backing into it?
Another irony: I asked my neighbor across the street if they saw anything happen on their security camera. They didn't see anything in my driveway, but did record an Amazon van that rolled into their car parked on the street.
