Mine is known event. I kicked the shit out of the tailgate in a fit of rage against this particular machine.

Do planes fly over your house? Maybe the guy who empties the sewage holding tank on planes (have you seen blue ice?) didn't get the valve closed and your truck took a direct hit. The ice would melt so there wouldn't be any evidence around your truck.

I remember a news report of blue ice penatrating the roof of a house.

Alfred Hitchcock said that an icicle is the perfect murder weapon for precisely that reason. Ironically, my neighborhood is on the flight path for PHL, depending on the wind of course . . .

Even more ironically, when I was in high school, an engine that fell off the wing of jetliner crashed through the roof of the house of one of my classmates. It destroyed their kitchen and scared the sh*t out of the family who were watching TV in the adjacent room, but no one was injured. I've always wondered if the screenwriter for Donnie Darko adapted that real-life event for the film.

This. I have a dent in my rear left fender just under the turn signal. Didn't notice it for quite a while and thought is was some dumbass in a parking lot. Now I think it may have been me backing into a neighbor's garage when exiting my garage in an narrow alley.

Yes, but those are along the bumper cover. If there’s anything that juts out above the height of the sensors, i.e. near the top of the tailgate, the sensors won’t catch it. Guess how I know this…
