Adding an R1T to the stable. Can’t decide between R1T Forest Green/Ocean Coast Trimax vs Storm Blue/SLATE Grey Quad Max. Difference in price will be 10k. Need help! Anybody with those combos? I have a Quad max R1S and did drive a Trimax but not long enough to know if the Tri is a big downgrade from the quad.

I have seen the colors and interiors. Still not sure which one is the way.

I can't speak to the quad vs tri aspect of things, but regarding colors...... Blue is my favorite color, but the Forest Green on the R1T is a great color.

I just went from Forest green quad launch edition 1st gen to Storm/Ocean coast trimax 2nd gen. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge downgrade. There where some things i didn’t like on the launch like the bluetooth speaker, the wrist band, the fob, and the mileage. But i do love the storm blue and ocean coast plus the mileage, which i think is the upgrade from the launch. Currently driving from chico CA to cedar park TX. Did this drive before in the launch and i have to say i’m enjoying the trimax and the autonomous+ free until Sept.

Yes, my preference is the storm blue. The forrest green was not my first pick of color for my first rivian. I was actually trying to get the launch green. But i’m very happy with the storm blue as a new first pick color.

FWIW — I see more Storm Blue than Forest Green R1S/R1T in these parts, if that matters. I’ve waffled back-n-forth between these two colors myself — given my profile pic, you can see what I chose…. #noregrets

I had a tri, and it was plenty fast enough, but it had extra highway range over the quad in conserve mode. That right there made a tri the obvious choice for me.

Are you confusing storm blue with their grey offerings? Storm blue was only released with Gen 2 and only on the tri or quad units. Per the web...

"Ultimately, while thousands of Forest Green Rivians are on the road, Storm Blue vehicles represent a small fraction of total production due to their late arrival and high-trim restriction"

I, too, looked at both colors, as I've always loved forest green. But they are EVERYWHERE! Storm Blue was my choice, and I have Rivian owners stopping and asking all the time what/where I got it!

No confusion here (well, at least not on this topic 😜) — Storm Blue was the “new” color with Tri/Quad Gen 2 vehicles (and the color of the R1S in the showroom) — many seemed to pick it…. Based purely on non-scientific anecdotal evidence from the DFW area only, White seems to be the most common color, followed by Midnight and El Cap. Surprisingly, perhaps only to me, I see very few Silver Rivians (it’s the “free” color). Forest Green and Storm Blue are in the next tranche of frequency, with the discontinued colors (Yellow/Red) and Dune being the least common. Again, anecdotal evidence only, YMMV.

Back to the original topic: get the color you like (and, being an owner of a Gen1 Quad and having spent some reasonable time behind the wheel of a Gen2 Tri, I can honestly write that there’s very little difference in normal driving — cannot speak to off-road prowess). I did feel a significant difference in the Dual MAX compared to my G1Quad, however.

Good luck!

These were my top 2 colors as well. Tough decision. I went with Forest Green as I came from a gray Gladiator and just wanted a non-gray like color.

I do think I’m going to have to wash it more often - noticing that the green gets dirty easily. I could go months without washing the gray Gladiator if I wanted to.
