As far as rear seat dog protection, I have this currently in my R1T and it works pretty well (plus I press the extension to give more usable room in the back). Given the dimensions, it should fit in the R2 fine, but I'll know for certain when I pick up next week.

For all weather mats, I have the kind in our Y that has very little texture that makes it really easy to just wipe out with a damp towel. I don't care for the thick heavy ones with ridges like Weather Tech or the ones Rivian sells. For a cargo mat, the opposite is true since ridges helps keep things from sliding around so some texture is fine.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but the day after I updated my R2 order my delivery date went up by a month. What did I change? I added a ton of the OEM accessories. Assumed they were all profitable for Rivian, I wanted them, and hoped it might bump me up in the line. I'm cool with overspending on the OEM items if this move in fact sped up delivery. All-in still in my budget.

Big thing for me is definitely something for our dog. He's never liked riding in my MS because he has never found a comfortable resting position in the back seat. He doesn't seem to care for sticking his nose out the window or anything. I think a good hammock or something more comfortable for him where he can lie down better will help. Also he's a white GSD and I ordered the black interior (if the white interior is available at my order time I may change my mind) so I need something that will take on all his shed.

I want whatever mats will fully capture every drop of salty ice melt so that the salt doesn’t then weld to the carpet. I’ve never found one for any vehicle that I’ve owned.

@hsctiger. I have a white and black Dalmatian so I kinda know what you ho through with your white GSD.

my aftermarket wish list so far:
  • Top glass cover &/or film
  • Solid phone mount
  • Protector for front bumper camera
  • Dog accessibility & accommodations
  • mats/covers complementing the factory interior
  • Seat covers (e.g., lambs wool in a monotone with the interior color scheme)

These are more of an example of the type I prefer. I'll probably just use the stock mats until these or ones like these come out aftermarket for the R2.

Been looking at those, as long as they get as fully under the pedals as possible and cover the dead pedal.

Hello - on the wishlist for R2 armrest / cubby storage, I just found this on Etsy and just ordered it. Have not received it yet, but it looks simple enough to solve my issue and price is right. Will report back.

Update! I ordered this and it came quickly. Really great, simple design. It just drops into place. Easy to pickup and reach the larger storage underneath. Here is the main site: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SquaredAwayTray

Now that I've had my R2 for 24 whole hours, here's what I'd love to have: some way to lower the driver's screen by an inch or two, so I could see the top corners of it through the steering wheel. A little articulating arm behind the screen seems like it should be doable.

I pulled the trigger on this, even though my order window is a few months away. there was an Etsy promo code, and it was a good price. My son's Mazda was the same way and I got one for his car - great accessory for that storage area.

I’d really like a cargo all weather mat and someone to figure out how to add tie-downs there too. All that space and no way to secure anything? Bonkers!

Not necessarily R2-related, but my kingdom for someone who can make a sturdy, safe pet carrier for vehicles.

I backed this thing on Kickstarter but the creator appears to have "ghosted" - taken the money and ran. Which is a shame. One of these would look awesome in the back seat of a Rivian. 😉

Thanks @emroch. I didn’t see it when I followed the link. Maybe I didn’t look close enough. Wouldn’t be the first time ROFL

Edit: I had to correct some really stupid autocorrect junk in both my posts. Hope they made you all smile. 😃 But I really hope there is a way to add tie-downs.
