That seems like it was not the right way to lift the car off the rock. They were pulling at an odd angle, putting a lot of sideways and forward force on that wheel, and I would be concerned about the suspension and steering/alignment of that wheel now.

Tow operators don't give a shit, unfortunately. You're gonna have to speak up and be assertive if you want them to treat your property with respect. Even then, they're not likely to listen and your only real option would be calling a different tow company. I got stories...
