They should at least say somewhere that it's dark interior only until late 2026. That's the annoying part. Showing off white, but not published on the site anywhere that it's late 2026.

Hopefully they just mean delayed availability like it was on the R1 Launch Editions. I settled for Black Mountain in my R1S to get faster delivery and would be fine waiting longer for my R2, but not at the expense of the LE bonuses.

This would be disappointing. I’d rather have anything other than black.

I suspect this would be only to streamline production for speed. Or maybe it’s a cash flow decision to reduce the number of parts to start.

It could be hallucinating but this is what the website chat says. It’s so weird that they would have pictures, breakdowns, etc that all include the light interior with launch edition but not have it as an option for launch edition.

Smart move. I am confident they will still have more people who want a LE than they can make and deliver and this not only streamlines production by limiting variables, it also provides a self selection criteria to reduce the pool of people disappointed that they missed the cut on LE.

Great question. I’m sure we’ll all get clarification soon, but Jose at Rivian Tracker has historically been very reliable. He somehow gets fed information early.

A bit disappointing if accurate. It was getting awfully tempting to go with the LE but this might move me to the waiting on Coastal Cloud and Lidar pile.

If it's similar to the ocean coast on the R1's, I'd rather have the dark interior. Would prefer a different color altogether though like a blue (slate sky-?) or even brown.

Yeah, Jose does get inside info and he's onsite in SXSW. So maybe he heard that from a Rivian rep. But that rep could be wrong. We need to hear official word from Rivian. That would be very disappointing if that's true. Maybe that means LE will have the white interior option but that it'll just be later and not in the initial builds.
