Visited the parks in Zion Bryce Canyon arches and Canyon land. The national Park at Zion was more like Disneyland than I wished. Each park had its own exquisite features and surprises. My wife and I took this trip in our 26 quad. Beautiful weather throughout. If you travel over 65 miles an hour your range decreases dramatically. I’m guessing it’s about 25% barely made it to the next charging station in a couple of occasions for example from Ely
Nevada to Fernley on Highway 50 I doubt I doubt that cars with more limited range could’ve made it as there was nothing in between that we are aware of. On a couple of occasions, we heard a very loud groaning sound coming from the front of the car, which probably turns out to be the cooling system for the battery. It happened when we stopped to charge on two occasions. The speed indicator bubble on the cruise control needs to be made significantly larger. It is very hard to see as of course, are the clock in the temperature gauge. The adaptive driving system worked everywhere, including national parks on three occasions we came up to pass some trailer trucks, and when the car started passing it lost power in adaptive driving mode, which frightened myself and my wife.. I never passed semi trailer truck again without both hands on the wheel. Only 14 vehicles passed us going the opposite way from Ely Nevada to Fernley. It was like twilight zone -long expanse’s of road with no vehicles anywhere in sight ..The slowesr charger we attended was one of the Rivian networks and the only Rivian network we were ever able to stop at conveniently. The truck was amazing, very comfortable, stable, and wind resistant.
