Yes, also a good option. The point being, a warm dash makes installation a bit easier as the dash pad is more pliable/less rigid.

Can anyone speak specifically to the use and experience of this device with AA only?

What exactly do you want to know?

I'm using Android Auto with Pixel 7. I am having some bugs here and there (it's almost entirely just...android auto crashing on my phone--a reboot of my device fixes it--it's a known Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 issue on Google's end).

I've been using mine since the 23rd of December.

Here's my one and only honest complaint: for some odd reason, you cannot set 'night mode' to automatically switch based on sunrise/sunset or ambient lighting in your vehicle. The literal only option is to set nighttime hours. But that's ...ridiculous, because obviously the time that the sun rises and sets changes DAILY.

Things like Waze will get dark/light mode from the phone which transitions based on time of day, BUT that doesn't do anything to change the intensity/backlight of the device itself.

I REALLY hope that's fixed in a future software version of the device itself. HOWEVER, are we even going to get updates to this unit? Time will tell.

As far as 'function,' it does exactly what you want it to--it'll display GMaps or Waze, you can play your music (I'm using YouTube Music and there are some limitations if you prefer to select some of the curated playlists--it sort of defaults to only a handful of quick pick options), and use the screen to interface in all the traditional ways in terms of changing tracks and what-not.

It reads text messages to you if you'd like, and it's pretty intuitive and easy to respond--I've even responded to Microsoft Teams Messages when I was on my way to work.

Nice tutorial! Thanks for sharing. I have a similar display and works pretty well with my R1S. The only thing that I am missing the mounting bracket. Now I can 3d print it but don't know the dimensions, will it possible for you share the dimensions.

I may have missed it but can you change the start up screen on this unit? Maybe I want a pic of my truck, or my dog, or my dog in my truck?

Is there a way to mount this below the display? 3d printed vent mounts or bracket to tape to display backside?
I rather block the vents then to have it stick above and squeeze into dash. I don't need to look at the display so much.

Does anyone know what size the mounting screws are? After 6 months all of mine are loose and 1 has disappeared. EV wants to charge $15 to ship a new set of 4 screws that shouldn’t have come loose in the first place.
I have gone to a local hardware store and it falls somewhere between an M2/M3 but cannot find anywhere that sells.
Please help.

Hello all! It’s been a while and I hope you all are enjoying your add on displays! We just added. Tesla Model Y AWD Premium to the fleet and will be adding a T_Sportline @EV Sportline steering column display to it this coming weekend, as the on in our R1T has worked flawlessly!
