Hi all! After updating to 2026.15.0, I noticed that a "crossed-out" Road Cam icon ([o°]) has appeared at the top left of my center display. I don't have and have never had an external drive connected to my R1S, so I'm not sure why this icon suddenly showed up, other than it's a glitch in the latest update. Has anyone else experienced this and any recommendations about how to remove it? It's a little thing but it's driving me kinda crazy. Thanks!

Select Gear Guard from your apps. Then select settings on the left side. Turn the toggle off for Road Cam and it will disappear from the top of the screen.

Hi, thanks! That's what's weird. Road Cam is already off and has always been off (I can't even toggle it, since I don't have an external drive connected). What's new is that I'm getting the icon telling me it's off on the Center Display. I think I'm just chalking it up as a glitch.

Do an infotainment reboot (hold outer steering wheel buttons) and see if that resolves the issue.

Is it really a glitch. Sounds like it’s telling you no hard drive is attached. It is something I would like to be notified about if my hard drive becomes disconnected.

Hi, thanks. Yes, I've tried both the infotainment reset and a vehicle restart and neither worked. I've never plugged in a drive or set one up, so I'm still not sure why I'd need to know it's disconnected. Oh well, thanks for your reply!

I agree! Except I've never had a hard drive connected and I've never set up Road Cam since I've had my vehicle for almost two years. The fact that it only appeared immediately after this most recent software update makes me think they must be related. It would be nice to know if it's disconnected, but if you don't even have a drive and don't want one? It's like getting a running notification that my air compressor isn't working (I don't have one and never have had one).

Coincidentally, I recently noticed the icon had disappeared on mine. Did a infotainment reboot and it remained missing. Did not try a hard reset since I knew a new OTA was being rolled out, which was just installed last night. Haven't had a chance to recheck.

I honestly feel weird even complaining about this, but I thought maybe others has experienced something similar and knew of a fix. I called Rivian to ask, but it doesn't seem to have come up.

Yah, I'm not too bothered by the minor gremlins either. If not for the very unusual car I encountered last Sunday AM (some obscure prototype race car that's been legalized for street-use through some rich folk loophole), I wouldn't even have realize the icon was missing.

Maybe this is sign to install a hard drive. It's a small expense and a great feature that may save you big bucks in the future.

Don't even need a hard drive. A 256 or 512 GB thumb drive with at least 400 mps r/w is enough. Larger capacity only mean recordings are kept longer before being overwritten by new ones.
