$50k isn't that bad considering the ice version starts around $40k. Though nothing really compelling here as far as pushing the boundaries but that is Toyota in general.

I love Toyota, but… less than 200 miles of range? Really? 👎

Eh, outside the US, lower-range EVs are fine. Although it looks like they're trying to sell this in Australia, where lack of range will also be a bit of a hindrance.

Although 150kW peak charging on a ~60kWh pack is pretty good. Although half an hour 10 to 80% would imply only ~80kW average charging speed 10-80%. I guess that isn't terrible for a 60kWh pack. Better than the first-gen bZ4X, that's for sure.

Ford: Welp we messed that one up.
Toyota: Hold my beer.

Popcorn at the ready.

Cost and simplicity. I'd trade the fancy multi-thousands to fix air suspension in the R1T for regular shocks and struts that I can buy from an auto parts store in a second. I wish Rivian would make it an option for those folks who want to off-road.

I disagree, while leaf springs and solid rear axle are cheap for ICE vehicle, it makes little sense to do so for ev because you would have to mount motor to the axle which greatly increases unsprung weight, and internet told me that’s bad.
If motor is located under the hood and coupled to rear axle via driveshaft, this makes it less efficient, and space occupied by driveshaft can not be used for battery’s.

in my opinion just bad design all around.

Meeeeh. I can convert my 74’ international 4x4 200 pickup easier than daydreaming about a POS Toyota technical gun truck not made for our market.
