Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

I'm noticing the past week after the 2026.07 update something changed and my 2026 R1T is not going to sleep anymore. Something changed after this latest updated. I will open the door to my garage in the AM and I see the ambient light on in the truck. I have the auto power off setup on my Uniden R8 and I notice it has auto powered off, where as normally the Rivian sleep mode would have powered off my detector.

I had the same issue but it was resolved after 2 days. I did a hard reset too. Now the car goes to sleep after 2 minutes.
I have a uniden R4 and VIOFO dual channel dash cam tapped to the rear view mirror.

Interesting... yeah I have a tap as well. Maybe the car is doing something and will resolve itself. I opened a service request and I'm hoping they can pull some logs from the car to see why it's not sleeping. I just turned off gear guard completely to see if that helps.

I noticed as well my car is staying connected to my WiFi and I see my car has uploaded 6.41GB of data in past day.

They'll most likely point finger at your non-factory addition and call it a day. With your detector disconnected, does it go to sleep? If not, remain disconnected, perform hard reset and see if it does go to sleep. If not, that's reason to contact Rivian. But I still would not mention the aftermarket modification.

There was another thread/post suggesting the wrong wire was tapped for power, being reason theirs wasn't sleeping. I'd even test the scenario where you return everything to stock, with removal of wire tap.

I’ve had my radar detector installed since day one. I’m 6 months into ownership and nothing has changed on my end. Seems like a problem or a change with latest software.

I have unplugged my detector and still won’t sleep.
