I realize YMMV, but does anyone have a sense of, once you start hearing the tocking, how long the half-shafts will last until complete failure? Is it certainty they will fail?
I'm in the same boat but with my R1T. Current registration expires June 30th and the RUC, if I'm reading it correctly, is due within 30 days of registration issuance. I'm hoping I have some insight on R2 timing before I have to renew!
Haha! Yes true first world problems. Thank you for the info! I saw that one as well but it wasn’t clear to me you could use the J1772 plug as well. Appreciate the help!
Thanks! I’m not electrically inclined. Do you know of anyone that makes a combined J1772 and CCS to MACS adapter. Or is that not possible? Do I just have to have two adapters?
Anyone know if Rivian will be providing or offering a J1772/CCS to NACS adapter? When I first bought my R1 I also got the Rivian wall charger. I would like to not have to get another wall charger for my pending R2.
I know what the air compressor sounds like and this is not that. And I should have also mentioned that while sitting in the parking lot, i did turn the HVAC off completely and the noise stopped. Hence my suspicion it's coming from HVAC.
At least in my case, I can confirm the suspension is not adjusting. I was sitting still in a parking lot for 15 minutes and the noise occurred multiple times and there was no suspension movement. The heat was set to auto and I was not adjusting that either. There was no HVAC fan adjustment...
Feel free to use with your service center! And if you have any luck with them, please let us know. The Malvern PA center was not able to diagnose based on the video.
From what you're describing, it sounds similar to what I am experiencing as well and I have a 2022 R1T. I took the following video while waiting for my son at soccer practice and the noise was consistently reoccurring (noise starts around 14 seconds into video and you have to turn volume up)...
This is great to hear! Do you know if he was out of the Malvern SC or Trenton SC? My experiences to date with Malvern have been great. Fortunately my experiences have been limited and for either routine tire rotations, etc. or stupid self inflicted issues such as cracking the rear tailgate...
Thanks for the good info! Glad to hear charging was easy and uneventful. Headed up to Okemo next week from SEPA and planning to stop in newburgh. The house we rented has a charger so hoping only the one stop is needed on the way there and back.
I just had mobile service out to replace the 12Vs and they said Malvern should be opening Q1 2025. One of the techs was new and shadowing the other guy. The new guy said he would be working out of the Malvern SC once it opens.
