Rivian originally stated that MaxPack vehicles would be the first delivered. Although delaying those vehicles might be reasonable not offering them with a Launch Edition option is not.
Not to burst your bubble but Rivian has stated that test drives will not begin until the summer. Presuming Rivian is being literal and referring to the astronomical rather than meteorologic season then test drives will not begin until June 20 at the earliest.
"This summer, we will be kicking...
Agreed. No test drives before June 20 and probably months later for most preorder holders. I also wouldn't expect any deliveries before the test drive program kicks off.
That raises an interesting point, what premium might a Rivian command in the first few months? I actually have early preorders on two, an R1T LE and an R1T Max Pack. If the market is there then I'll consider flipping the first to finance the second. Thoughts?
The width was not modified. The specifications were misstated. I am more than happy to give Rivian the credit it earns but will equally call it out when it falls short. I'm not buying a lifestyle or an adventure, I'm buying a vehicle, and an expensive one at that.
I'm neither a fanboy nor a hater. But posting an erroneous width for the vehicle for more than two years is hardly just an "oops." Vehicle dimensions go to the heart of what people are purchasing. An error of 2.73" can be the difference between a vehicle fitting in a garage or not. Rivian should...
I will not purchase without first test driving, seeing the colors, and reading several professional reviews. If I can't do this by the end of June then I'll cancel my two orders and move on. With a short term lease and decent residual I might be more flexible. With a purchase though it's all...
It could accommodate my MTB with the dropper down but not enough height for my road bikes which I currently place upright in my van. I was hoping to place them in the bed of the R1T until they removed the quick connects. : (
Based on the handlebar angles these are MTB's slung over the tailgate.; they're not mounted in the bed. This is not a desirable way to carry road bikes nor does it allow you to drop the tailgate without removing the bikes.
I saw the R1T in Arizona a year ago and many of the design compromises since then will adversely affect my day-to-day use of the vehicle. Tank turns and racing through the desert make good photo ops but will see little, if any, use from me whereas the tailgate, cargo bed, and frunk will be used...
1. No 180° drop for the tailgate making cargo bed entry and loading more difficult, requiring more room behind the vehicle, and eliminating any possibility of enjoying handy tailgate features such as foot pegs to aid entry and tailgate seats that are available in competitors' vehicles.
2...
It's a shame that they dropped the functionality of having crossbar mounts in the bed. I was looking forward to transporting my bikes that way to keep them out of the wind. Between this and the many changes to the tailgate (non electric, no 180 degree, no seat, no foot pegs) the vehicle is...
