After my experience, I certainly wouldn't. I feel like the risk of ending up stranded on a roadside somewhere with a fully bricked vehicle is going to rapidly approach 100% once you see this warning. I'd treat it as effectively "dead" as that was exactly what happened to me. Got the warning, and...
It's not quite that simple in a Rivian - see my experience and other's here and here
Yes, if all goes perfectly well it's not a "major" repair, but it's not as simple as just a physical battery swap because of some crazy decisions Rivian has made with their low-voltage architecture leading to...
Don't believe so, My R1S definitely has the newer (Bat + cap) system and had the same issue - even had the weird "bricking" after the replacement, the tech could not get the new battery to be "accepted" by the vehicle and it was unusable. They had to come back later that day with a different...
Possibly but that would get into collision mitigation system territory but it would absolutely use the friction brakes for that.
But "not" enough could just be a large enough speed delta between you and the car in front of you that it exceeds the ability of regen alone to be able to keep a safe...
I mean, it can literally only be Rivian's fault. It's not Ford's or Apple's. Rivian updated the platform, the platform decisions made are compatibility breaking. That's a choice they made. I'm not saying it's bad or wasn't needed, but I am saying it's silly to call people out for saying that...
The fact that it "tells" you when you've throttle-matched speed is very useful to making it seamless, but I suspect most people didn't know it was a thing
For those complaining about jerky exits from cruise control, please see my post here for some info that might help you to smooth that out:

This works. In fact it's exactly how I deal with the random "Driver+ not Available" for like... 50ft messages that pop up. If you just give a little twist on the wheel (enough to overcome the initial D+ resistance) it'll disengage D+ but KEEP ACC active. And then 4 seconds later when D+ suddenly...
I have to join the MASSIVE improvement group. Literally within the first 1/4mi regular passengers in the vehicle said - unprompted "what happened? This feels NORMAL now"
And while I would still personally argue that I wish it could be just a little better it's absolutely NIGHT and DAy better...
Agreed with this - the dynamic roof, at best, will help with the "optical" issues the most - yes being more opaque, and being white/light in color will probably reflect a bit of heat (on top of just preventing some visible spectrum light getting to internal surfaces that are darker in color and...
It feels behind any 10+yr old vehicle with lane keeping assist that works anywhere.
I fear we may never actually get lane keeping on typical streets - at least for Gen1 which legit kinda sucks and is mind-boggling.
Gen2 probably will not be significantly better when it launches, but it at...
I am definitely on the "If you need a fast charger at home, think really carefully if an EV is going to be the right choice for you" train
Don't want to tell anyone what to do, but I think advising to really think about your options is good guidance here
This is EXACTLY what my R1S looked like after my 12v battery died and the tech had replaced it but the vehicle would NOT accept the new battery (there's a system process you need to go through to tell the vehicle the battery is new) ended up taking an entire day to sort that out and it turned...
Wasn't denouncing Rivian over this, was meant to be more humorous and light-hearted as now we can finally see that they are offering this as a factory option - you'll note there's a smiley face at the end of it...
I think it's good news honestly because now you should be able to order...
