  1. Not looking too good for continued operations beyond 2025

Apart from being partnered with Amazon and having a far better product than other manufacturers, Rivian has no legacy costs which should give them about a 30% advantage on everyone but Tesla. So the product could be 30% better or 30% more profitable. (or combination of the two)
  2. Rivian Top Speed Too Low?

If you're driving 110 mph on public roads you're a complete ass hat. If you're buying the 7200 lb. Rivian to track it you're just stupid. There's no need to increase the top end and the fact that something this heavy hits it in 11 seconds makes me happy I have a governor. Go to a track in...
  3. Invited into R1S R1 shop - need opinions

I got Forrest Edge in my R1T. I've never had so many compliments on a vehicle interior. I ordered it again on my R1S. I guess that's why car salesmen say ""There's an ass for every seat".
  4. 5000 Miles of Perfect Operation From My R1T

Same. Just hit a perfect 5k. Nice to see some people posting the positives
  5. R1T Rollover Flipped!

I've always been a "shiny side up" kind of guy myself. I guess I'm a bit of an optimist
  6. R1T Rollover Flipped!

Flat ground? Look at the hole next to it.
  7. Update: Your Max Pack Preorder - R1T’s Max Pack only available w/ Dual-Motor. Unavailable w/ Quad-Motor starting 2023

I finally gave up and went with the 4 motor large pack option. I figured the range difference wasn't significant enough and I didn't really want to haul around the extra weight of a max pack for the driving exception. BTW, super happy with the large pack R1T.
  8. Started the 8 steps and am getting cold feet. Edit: warm fuzzies now, completed the steps :)

As briefly as I can put it, you'll not regret your decision to purchase this vehicle. I've owned over 25 vehicles in my life including some very high end cars. The R1T is the best thing I've ever bought. It enticed mr to order 2 R1S's since that time. Most of my friends are, make that were...
  9. Hurricane Preparations

We were really lucky in that all we lost was a Jet Ski and some landscaping. House and garage were dry. Actually feel guilty when so many flooded.
  10. Hurricane Preparations

After going through Ian I found the battery worked extremely well keeping my chest freezer cold and recharging/powering wet vacs, phones etc. Still had 120 miles range after 1 week without power.
  11. Who's ready to test their Rivian in Hurricane Ian?

I think the best part of the Rivian was the ability to run our freezer and help power industrial wet vacs during the cleanup. Recharged my electric chain saw and phones too. A lot of people didn't have generators or did have them and they flooded. As long as I have a big battery vehicle I...
  12. Cv shafts keep popping out

Same. I imagine they're aware of their warranty obligations and are probably racing to engineer a durable fix. I know they're working on their own motors so maybe this fix will be integrated with that. Even if it cost them $10,000 per vehicle to repair every vehicle produced they'd only be...
  13. Cv shafts keep popping out

That's the price we pay as early adopters. Does a tonneau cover affect my life? Not so much. A wheel potentially falling off? Well, that's different but they did address that ASAP with a voluntary recall. Give them a chance to make things right. I'm thinking that there some people who have...
  14. Cv shafts keep popping out

Don't get too worked up. My truck has been flawless and the 3 other Rivian in the hood are fine as well. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw.
  15. Who's ready to test their Rivian in Hurricane Ian?

Stayed through the he storm. By the time anyone knew that it was turning Eastward there was no way evacuation was feasible. 8 feet of storm surge in my neighborhood brought the water to within inches of my front door but luckily no intrusion. I avoided driving until all water was off the streets...
  16. Failed R1T auction: High bid price of $85K doesn't meet reserve

I think we're finally starting to feel the rise in interest rates as the Fed pushes us deeper into recession. I hoping a quality company like Rivian can weather the upcoming storm. Market is down, building stopping, people lack the confidence to buy anything they don't really need.
  17. ⚠️ Rivian Recall: insufficiently torqued front upper control arm & steering knuckle fastener [official torque value = 90 lb-ft / 122 Nm]

They specifically say "On a small percentage of vehicles, the fastener connecting the front upper control arm and steering knuckle may not have been sufficiently torqued. While we’ve only seen seven reports potentially related to this issue across our fleet to date, even one is too many.' They...
  18. ⚠️ Rivian Recall: insufficiently torqued front upper control arm & steering knuckle fastener [official torque value = 90 lb-ft / 122 Nm]

I question why Rivian would say there have been no issues if there are photos like this floating around and why there is so much bad publicity regarding what could POTENTIALLY be a loose steering nut. Doesn't anyone else think it's odd that a 2 minute fix recall like this could drop Rivian stock...
  19. ⚠️ Rivian Recall: insufficiently torqued front upper control arm & steering knuckle fastener [official torque value = 90 lb-ft / 122 Nm]

Got to love the modern day media. Less trustworthy by the day. I wonder who's pushing the short on Rivian stock with these "Rivian is doomed" headlines. It's just a possible loose nut for God's sake!
