It's bad, yeah. It definitely eats 20-30% of my battery if I let it run all day. It doesn't always show up like that in the battery stats, though. I use a Galaxy S22 Ultra also so it's not some random Android phone.
My solution? I started carrying the fob around with me and no longer allow the...
I think those things are cool. But it's not really that important for it to be able to do things like open the trunk (in my opinion of course!). Whereas basic stuff like navigating is super important, especially with no Android Auto or Carplay support. I was actually hoping someone might see my...
Oh and, regardless of setting up Alexa, why doesn't it know where the truck is when I ask for directions? Isn't GPS awareness like the most basic feature a system like this should possess? Truly bizarre. When I first got the truck (brand new) Alexa seemed to think I was in California. I'd ask...
I connected it to my Amazon account and installed the Alexa app on my phone so I could tell it where I live. I have no idea what else I'm supposed to do, if anything. If there is then that's another knock on it because there is no direction in the vehicle about how to make the stupid thing...
"any navigation command generally works" - lol, I wish. Alexa is an embarrassment. I can't believe anyone actually uses it if they have a choice. I ask it to navigate to a contact, no idea what I'm talking about. I ask it to navigate to the address by spelling the whole thing out, doesn't...
I have not noticed it malfunction or seem buggy. Not as it relates to the blind spot safety.
In addition to blind spot monitoring, the center screen has graphics to depict different types of objects (car, truck, motorcycle, pedestrian) around the vehicle. Sometimes it doesn't quite pick the...
22' wheels?! That's one helluva lift! How would you even get in that thing? Sorry, I couldn't resist ;)
Glad you're enjoying the R1S so far. My wife and I love our R1T.
I'd prefer to have the HUD. I've had other vehicles with it and I always like it. That said, I'd never consider replacing my R1T because of that feature alone.
Regarding the blind spot camera, I've never had that and it does seem cool. All I can say is the Rivian has very good sight lines and...
In general, it has worked well for me but definitely not perfect.
In fact, it actively tried to cause an accident on the highway last week. It mistakenly seemed to think it needed to avoid a collision (red light flashed in driver display) and tried to rapidly swerve into the adjacent lane...
We initially had a loaner truck for a week before taking delivery of our actual rt1. The loaner had noticeable wind noise coming from the passenger side a-pillar. I mentioned it to the guys when they dropped off our truck and picked up the loaner. They said they've seen a few trucks come in that...
To be fair, I didn't say I believed I was saving money by purchasing an $80k vehicle. What I implied was that I think the idea of daily driving a truck that gets 15 mpg when the owner rarely needs the truck features is silly.
The R1T is like driving a very nice car that can do truck stuff...
Having never owned a truck prior to the R1T, both my wife and I have been surprised by how often we have used the bed. It hasn't been daily or even weekly, but when we need it (sandy beach items, hauling home improvement supplies, helping my niece move, hanging out in it on a pleasant day while...
I'm surprised he hadn't solved the Celsius issue in the app, being a techy dude. My wife's phone was also doing this and a quick Google search produced the solution. The global iOS setting needs to be toggled to Celsius and back to Fahrenheit and it should then work.
Apparently, Rivian waits a week to submit the registration in case the buyer takes advantage of the return policy. That said, mine was quick, also in WI like the above poster.
