Good to know, but my normal interaction is picking through 20 or so new releases to decide what I want to listen to (and often switching around). Never really navigate per podcast.
Hope to be in a similar spot later this year.
Got a standard XLT lightning as I didn't think an extended lariat+ was worth $80k.
If the XLT pays for the rivian, I may lean towards rivian.
The size / functionality of the lightning is better for me. I'm tall and the Rivian rear seats have poor...
Pretty standard for rivian and others based on conditions.
Most likely the battery was getting too hot so rivian backed off the power to allow itself to cool.
Same estimate but a reservation from May2021. I was also Explore. So, doubly pushed back at the time.
So, I assume with Ocean Coast now being delivered and Explore no longer being sold. It seems reasonable to expect it sooner?
I think I saw someone with a Reservation from Nov2021 w/ OC get...
I can see me doing this on (at least) the roof with my bald head if I decide to buy/keep the Rivian vs. my lightning.
How much did everything cost you?
Supply chain will seemingly be a thing for at least another year for just basic components, then batteries will continue to be in short supply for a couple more years.
Some F150 Lightnings are currently on Chip holds due to shortages.
I have a May 2021 order, and an initial Q1 2023 window...
To put things in perspective,
Got my f150 lightning delivered and picked it up on a weekend early August.
A few imperfections required some work.
Dust nibs on tailgate.
Some white overspray on a black plastic fitting the runs under the windshield.
B pillar had numerous scuffs.
I'm getting...
No.
I haven't been following along closely. But, As far as I know, Rivian is not building anything without a powered Tonneau for the foreseeable future to likely streamline production. I don't believe they've even shown what the truck looks like with the manual cover.
So, this line is making me not want to sign this:
"You hereby create a binding contract with Rivian obligating you to purchase the Vehicle. "
I'm still not certain I will buy the Truck.
Maybe this is just required for the contract itself. Rivian will have no issues selling the Truck if I...
I have an older R1T preorder which I just upgraded to Adventure. The price is $71K so it's under the new threshold.
I will not hit the new income limits @ 300K. So I am fine there.
Is there any other reason I should sign this.
Not even 100% certain I'll take the Rivian, but I've left the...
Honestly, fuck Rivian.
They had to know for a while these large price increases where incoming.. Did they hint at anything? Not that I am aware.
Sure, everyone would consider some price increase to be reasonable...
This isn't a little price increase, this is basically adding on a Ford...
If you watch individual stocks, you will quickly find out that these articles authors do not know what they are talking about anymore than you do (assuming you take a little bit of time to research).
Almost daily you'll see from the sites:
Don't Buy "X" Stock.... That same day it's up 10%
Buy...
Something else to consider for Ford is the Ford Options payment plan:
https://www.ford.com/finance/finance-options/ford-options/
Pretty sure it will be available to the F150L.
It's a mix between a lease and standard financing. You own the car (get tax credit), but have a couple of options at...
Is that fresh off the lines or just the fact they recieved some regulatory notice.
If the former, I would say concerning for Sept. deliveries as I would have assumed they would already had a cache of Trucks built that are just waiting the final reg. approval for delivery.
I poked around Twitter and I see a response from MT:
Long story short, they weren't supposed to go live with the first part of the written story. They'll be back up on their own soon.
(from the long haired guy in the videos).
So maybe I can put away my pitchforks and Tin foil hat :)
Not looking good for Rivian in my mind.
They also definitely adjusted the comments on rear legroom on the last articles.
We all know Rivian is very secretive about things and seems to want to be the one's to reveal/release information so they control it. There was something likely in the...
No I totally agree, this is irking me too as I've thought this could be a comfortable family road tripping Truck with a lot of fancy tech. But, then the 36.6" of rear legroom was released and many said that sizing isn't comparable... But, looking at all photographic evidence, the rear legroom...
Yup, they totally did:
Old:
New:
While wearing my tinfoil hat, I swear Rivian is actively trying to suppress how poor their rear legroom is.
Between the two images below, you cannot say rear legroom isn't an issue. Look how F'N close RJ is sitting in that front seat to avoid the back...
The review seems pretty clear to me that the rear seats are not comfortable themselves, and they said Rivian has already redesigned them for the production model..
But, nothing can be done with the "cramped" aspect of the review. The rear legroom is just 36.6 inches which many would not...
Yes we know the EPA range which is a mix of city and fairly slow highway speeds.
We really don't know how the truck behaves at highway speeds like 65 to 80mph. There no other EV at this size on the highway to see how much more battery drain it is going get when actually driving at more...
