So it records even without an actionable incident or pushing the icon?
Was right behind a bad rear end collision a couple weeks ago. Hit the brakes hard to avoid it. Nothing showed up on the Drivecam screen or in incidents. Hit record 20 seconds later hoping it would save the last 2 minutes, nope.
Don't click his videos. He's an idiot who sent people out in a drag car on slicks in a snowstorm and nearly got people killed from the resulting accident.
If you watch his crap, he gets paid. Don't watch his crap.
I've towed at 65mph or lower on the pike for years. Mostly cause my old Tacoma couldn't hold that speed on hills with my trailer.
It's doable. Don't worry as much about everyone else. They'll go around.
5 seconds?
Man. What I've give for 5 seconds on my drivers side. That thing re-latches in about 1.5 seconds. Gotta be quick after pushing the button if you want to get it open!
I'd been harrassed by two track managers to take my R1T out on the tracks I frequent, but after seeing someone else's R1T tires after two hot laps, nooooo thanks. Until I hit the lottery, those tires are WAY too spendy to shag that quickly.
Already got an error message when I got into my truck tonight. Something about the external storage for Drive Cam not being found.
Samsung T7, still plugged in fine....
Verdict is in:
1 gallon of gas, Honda EU3000i generator, charging at 120v/22amps (set by truck)
Elapsed time: 2 hours, 34 minutes.
Starting charge: 41%, 139 miles of range
Ending charge: 45%, 157 miles of range
18mpg.
I'm conducting the measured 1 gallon of gas charge test currently. Generator is outside humming away. Ran it completely dry first. "trying" to make a video worth posting on YouTube of the whole thing.
I had purchased all the necessary adaptors to get my Honda EU300i connected to my truck for charging, so I figured I'd try it out before I actually needed to use it.
Hooked up the NEMA L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor to the generator, then plugged that into the TT-30P to NEMA 14-50R adaptor, then...
Well, if I had to do it all over again, I'd get this and bring along a NEMA 14-50R to L14-30p adaptor. That one is large/heavy though. If you have empty trailer space and can use it as a whole house backup generator though....
But, I got a nice little Honda E3000i generator for free, so I use...
That's why I bring my little 3kw inverter generator + adaptors with me whenever I tow for a long distance.
Sitting on the side of the road for a while with the generator humming along is better than sitting on the side of the road for a while waiting for a tow truck.
It's for emergencies only...
