Good video. It is a shame to still seat misalignment between the front edge of the hood and the fender. Some are perfect, some are Ok and some are egregious. As it is the same for the S and the T I would hope after 25,000 made they would be more consistent on this panel alignment.
The expansion was to take it to 200k and I thought that was completed in 2022 since it was announced at around the IPO and there as a video of RJ saying beyond this point in the existing plant was a car park. I don’t recall the video but the expansion should be done by know.
Yes more than an ice factory but certainly not more than Fremont who produce 12 times the volume with three times the staff. Now some of that is due to ramping but let’s see in the next year or two how efficient they become.
Agreed some vertical integration, more so than an ICE factory but that is a lot of individuals for 50k production. I don’t know if some of R&D is there on site to work with manufacturing and this inflates the numbers.
Fremont (which is a more experienced site) has 22000 employees for 600000...
That is over half the company headcount. It is a huge number of employees to make 50k vehicles this year. Other factories have significantly less people for the volume, I understand battery pack assembly is in house but a lot is still bought in like the interiors.
My wife was also not sold on the T but we switched from the S to the T in part for the reasons you state.
The first and second rows are the same in terms of space between the two and there is more storage space. So unless you really need to carry five people (or more) for an extended period the...
Just so I am clear moving from the 20” AT to the equivalent AS made major improvements for you? Something I will keep in mind when needing to change.
Once they negotiate away the exclusivity agreement then they can sell to you and others. Since their capacity for EDV production outstrips the 10-15k a year Amazon want through to 2030 this is the right decision.
Interesting article in the WSJ about Rivian and Amazon negotiating to scrap the EDV exclusivity agreement. Link below with some of the article pasted.

Under terms of a 2019 agreement, Rivian is required to sell all of the vans it makes to Amazon. In...
