I'm really curious as to the towing capacity of the R2. Love the 3rd gen 4Runner size and capability but would like to have 6000 lbs towing for when I get a boat (hopefully).

Disagree. Mass market = most sales. Cheapest = loss leader.

The Launch Edition is not intended to the be the mass market version, the dual motor version is and those aren't the same thing. I also disagree that people don't care about looks or off road prowess. Just look at all the people that will buy a TRD off-road 4Runner when a cheaper Rav4 would be...

Same here. I see more Rivian Amazon vans than their old Dodge vans in the Denver area. Guess they are probably localized in certain EV friendly cities.

100% agree about not trusting anything coming out of the state owned CCP media. I do trust the non Chinese car manufactures that are using CATL and other Chinese batteries but they aren't making huge claims of having solid state batteries that are ready to go (at least I don't think they are).

So all those EVs using CATL batteries are unsafe and will kill you? Better tell those car companies using them.

Do we have any specs on it? Looks like a 110 circuit so maybe 1500 to 2000W. Not really the V2L people were looking for.

Would take my R1 getting totaled. I do like the R2 but it doesn’t have the features I’d want in order to upgrade.

No RJ didn't say the launch edition will start under $45k. All that's known is that the R2 will start around $45k, so probably the RWD base model.

Nice! I haven't charged at an Ionna station yet but will be stopping at a few in June. They look pretty cool and seem fairly cheap. Growing quickly too, will probably pass RAN in a few months.

Where did you see those charging rates? I highly doubt it would be anywhere near 300kW let along 400kW charging for a 400V system.
