oh yeah that's a viable possibility although it's not what I was personally told. (I am open to the very real possibility I was given inaccurate Information). If they are IR I would think they would give off a red-ish glow when in use... but I am certainly no expert on IR LEDs
Yes this..... I am absolutely positive these are LEDs. I am also quite positive many employees have no clue what they are because they aren't enabled. When I asked about them it was the engineer that said they were ditch lights but weren't enabled. The other employee (from marketing) had no...
@crashmtb - Thanks for the confirmation and Good question... I've seen them every time Rivian posts a picture or Video.... but yes definitely want to see if they are still there on the delivered trucks. They may not be software activated yet but if they're there I'm sure it's only a matter of...
Thank you @godfodder0901, @timesinks, and @JDMD for answering all our crazy questions.
I just heard something from a test drive that surprised me. The person test driving didn't think there were any seat memory settings... Can you confirm if there are any seat memory settings for the drivers...
I guess I'm one of the few that intended to buy a Max Pack R1S but configured an LE since there was no Max Pack option in November 2020. At this point I guess I feel like a genius... I had always intended to punt as soon as a Max Pack variant was announced but now here I am with an LE...
I cannot wait till a bunch of us have our Rivians! I am looking forward to some sort of meet up location that works for most of us... I realize Texas is a big state but it would be really cool to find a location where no-one felt left out. Start thinking of ideas in your neck of the woods...
They had it figured out at one point. The Max Pack R1S (or technically the 180kWh R1S as it was known back then) was a 5 seater with the third row deleted to make room for the extra battery cells in the foot wells of the deleted 3rd row. They decided this was not acceptable for some reason...
Hopefully some of that money will end up in the pan handle... where, apparently BEVs go to die right now.... There's just nothing north of Sweetwater right now.
This isn't true. The Max pack on both the R1T and R1S has been developed and in fact the R1T that came through Austin in April was a Max Pack version.
Now it is true that the Max pack R1T is not being produced at scale yet and it is also true that Rivian has chosen to re-develop a longer...
Given your assumptions my opinion is there is no reason not to get the extra seats, however, I am still hoping Rivian comes to their senses with the Max Pack 5 seat configuration as originally planned. The only reason to get the 5 seater is for more battery and as you pointed out nominal extra...
Thanks for taking the time to give us a heads up Tommy. Agree with others that it seemed like a no brainer that you guys would be at the Colorado event. While most of us are pretty much all in on Rivian some of their marketing decisions have been questionable at best.
