As someone who intends to travel extensively once I get my R1S this is practically a no brainer for me almost regardless of cost. But let the guessing begin. I’m guessing it’ll be a monthly fee of between $30-$50….. maybe less because most won’t use as much RAN charging as I’m planning to use...
Email just came out.
We’re excited to introduce Rivian Membership as a way for owners to engage with us and with each other, to encourage appreciation and protection of the natural world and share values and experiences. Benefits like complimentary charging, off-Roadside Assistance, member...
Exactly.... I mean MotorTrend only drove the trucks from East to West across the entire country... Everyone knows that's downhill the whole way..... For it to be legit they have repeat the run West to East right?
I am almost certain RJ himself said he would not be getting the first one (although I'm not going digging through all the interviews to find the statement). There are a lot of investors that could be first.... Including Bezos and a few others....
I don't know about the drain plug but I do know they added a 12volt outlet in the frunk. Motortrend has been incorrect on a few things or at least poor wording. I am trying to find proof that the 12volt power is still there. I also believe these are older builds that Motortrend is reviewing.
Yes to all this and more.... With my youngest a senior in high school my wife and I are starting to look towards being empty nesters, retirement and more road trips...
I am pretty proud of myself as a parent (I know that probably sounds bad) but one of my favorite accomplishments with my...
While I haven't seen it discussed we have seen rock rails installed and being tested on the truck. Neither running boards nor rock rails have made it into the configurator yet and it might be a little while until anything after market is available. But I am sure there are mounting points for...
There is definitely 12v in the frunk. (Located on little shelf towards the top front of the frunk off set to the drivers side) I saw it in April when I wasn't allowed to take interior pictures...lol. It was always my understanding that Rivian practically expected people to use the frunk with a...
@Coast2Coast - I thought I vaguely remembered this thread from last year and can't believe I never replied. I think I was still in the mindset of learning as much as I could about the R1S last summer. Now with R1T deliveries imminent and R1S's hopefully just a few short months away I am...
Are you asking how replacing 21s is going to be an awful experience? I think the general consensus from most who have been following Rivian for a while is that the 21s are an odd size that won't be in stock at your local retailer like Discount Tire... (and may never be kept in stock unless...
Here's what I did....
Went to https://www.fueleconomy.gov/ and found the R1S. I then personalized the settings for 90% highway and it returned a value of 51 kWh per 100 miles or 510Wh per mile. There might be a better way but I feel like that gets me closer to reality.
A little bright spot for those of us looking at the R1S... the site still has this.....
"After launch, we’ll announce the timing of our 250+ mile and longer range R1S, with seven seats.³"
The other possibility is that they are still the exact same packs as always but that they needed to open up a little of the headroom on the R1S to make the number. I am not sure why they would do that though.... very curious why the R1S ended up less efficient... I am guessing weight with the...
