That is the one tiny silver lining I immediately thought of in this "you know" situation. This will help Rivian during a very critical (if not the fate of the company depends on) launch.
YES! The time and temperature are an awkward spot for the driver. Not unseeable but a bit closer would be nice. Heck, a second display of time and temp on the driver's screen would work.
I've only had it a short time but the first annoying thing was how loud the heat pump is while parked inside my garage and I am not in the truck. Fortunately from inside the truck, it's not that noticeable.
Once or twice the truck did not automatically unlock when I walked up to it. Had to...
WOW, thanks for that link for the Rivian tools! Don't need it right now but will save it for future reference.
I have a self bleeder set up. Just curious about the Rivian side of things. Which seems to be nothing special is required outside of make sure the parking brake is not engaged.
Heh - if you ever heard the heat pump kick in on a Gen 2 when standing outside the vehicle, that's a horrible sound. On the other hand from the inside I don't find it bad at all.
I think it might be ghosts!
J/K, if a person had access to a scan tool you might be able to nail down what is getting turned on or off at the moment the sound happens. Only Rivian has those but I'm sure they are not going to spend a ton of time trying to track this sound down. Given...
Jake brake is a very unique sound. For lack of a better description, kinda sounds like a truck farting.
Off the top of my head, I would check to see if one of the wheels is rubbing on something. Might be hard to do with the vehicle on the ground. Set it to max height to make it easier to...
I got the same Unable to Authorize message right after the update. Sirius was unusable for like a day. But then it seemed to fix itself and has been fine.
I have noticed it can repeat a song every once in a while. Not sure what that is about.
I got a mixed bag from Rivian. I wound up getting rid of two vehicles (Decided to use the opportunity to trim down the fleet). On my Canyon they were a couple grand less than Carmax. Went with Carmax. On my G8 GXP, they were significantly higher than Carmax was. Like more than just a couple...
Henry is dead and has been for a long time. His son too. The family still has some control I believe. Henry was very unique in his non-automotive beliefs. I don't believe the living family would support Nazis for example. So to Cycliste's point, not sure you should hold the current Ford...
Congrats on your purchase. I'm honestly surprised you were able to find one so new, but good for you. You obviously saved a decent bit of money over buying a 2026 brand new.
That is another hurdle to be crossed, for sure. But access to the guides and the vehicle computers brings us one step closer to the ultimate goal of fixing your vehicle yourself. I wouldn't bet on the current situation of lack of access to parts lasting forever.
I don't know the status of...
This is fantastic news for those of us who like to do our own wrenching. Yes, I won't be using it until my warranty runs out. But this gets rid of one concern I had about keeping the truck long term. Having an option outside of the factory service center (read $$$$) is a good thing.
This...
Lots of good options presented here. But given your limited knowledge on the subject, I'd recommend keeping it simple. Don't get a charger that does more than 40 amps or if you pick one that can do more, make sure it has internal switches that will force it to go no more that 40 amps.
Let me...
That's fair enough if the data hasn't been published. I was just curious.
So how do you know 80 mph is when the torque starts to fall off? Not saying you are wrong BTW. I also don't think that happening is a bad thing. As you say, 80 is pretty close to the top end of where people drive...
