I keep mine in the drivers side door, inside the case for my A2Z. The A2Z is currently rolling around the frunk while I wait for it's replacement (which I hope comes with a second case)
That's the point, it now doesn't turn on the heaters until it's below 15F, as long as you are above that. So it doesn't use energy to "warm-up the pack", it leaves it cold.
That said, if you charge shortly before leaving, charging does heat the pack, so it will be well above 15F. Using wall...
I do it with my EVSE using a couple scripts. It seems like if the pack is actually cold, like 25F, even on L2, it will slow charge and heat the pack before full speed charging. I find when I do this, the pack is 50-55F when I leave in the morning, regardless of outside temps.
I think a lot of...
Why would they make a custom color for a show if it's not the official color? Especially one let onto the public streets.
I think we know what this is, production has started for the quad, with at least one new color, and it's undergoing validation testing before the announcement.
Yea, it gets expensive, but I mention Porsche because they will let you just pick a color and they'll hand paint for $30k
My point is I could see it be $5k, that would likely cover those extra costs
That's a good point, NACS may be an option at first. I hope that's the case.
It's a quad, I think if you're blowing the money on the quad, a lot of people want to show it.
As for it being one time, nah, it fits the theme of the brake color, and it fits the Rivian theme of nature colors, it's...
They said it's an option and you can spec the other wheels. Also, those sport wheels probably are really bad on range. I'd only get them if you really value your 0-60 times
I really think that the Quad and NACS annoucments are immiment, in fact. In fact, I think they've been in production for a week. Factory had a shutdown over the holidays (which is when they usually roll in some tooling updates). Rumors before were they were planning for very early NACS rollout...
Ahh, I don't have a gen2, you made me look at it closer
It looks like it was added to. Scheduled departures, so I guess you can schedule the third row now
Well I've been poking around and watching API changes...
The app added support for the charge port door controls and third row heated seats...
So I guess it adds that function, charge port door control from the app.
2.4Ghz goes through walls better than 5Ghz, so it tends to reach a little further if you have lots of stuff in the way.
As for Connect+, I say that because Rivian said if you don't pay for Connect+ they intentionally delay the update by a week
Electric motors have more than just go and regen. You can do a reverse power, that is apply full power backwards, while going forwards.
Further, electric motor heating is more dependent on motor torque than motor power.
That means, in an electric, you can actually hold the vehicle, stopped, or...
I'd bet it's only 2 "sizes", 33" and 34". Do they implement as the 3 Rivian options (20, 21, 22), or do they implement it as "33 vs 34", wheel size (20, 21, 22) and a compound type slider? (Sport/AT, Standard, Eco). I think that second way much better. I don't know they'll give it to us.
I tried, too many random things that don't support it. I have two networks, I force everything to 5GHz that supports it, and then have a separate 2.4GHz network for the things that don't. I think the exception is my Rivian because the 2.4GHz reaches further into the driveway.
But yea, as the...
What do you think that minimum is?
I'd hazard a guess it's probably 0 or 10F, definitely not 25F, still drives fine at those temps. I haven't gotten the pack that cold yet, but I have yet to get it so cold that I have trouble getting to highway speeds. That would be the temp I would expect...
But why do you want the battery preconditioned at all? Why do you want to spend money drawing juice from the wall to make the battery warm? The new update it doesn't draw from the wall because it wouldn't draw from the pack either.
I think the classic response is the battery is more efficient...
So towed my other car today, 120mi empty in 10-15 degree weather, and then 120mi back loaded when it warmed up to 15-25 degrees. 5500lbs is what it reported which is about right.
Also, what's up with superchargers having "trailer friendly" stalls that are not actually trailer friendly. The...
