Forest Edge is back?! Nice. Seems like it’s only available on the Dual-motor R1T/S, whereas the Tri and Quad get Slate Sky. You get the Max Pack battery ($7,000) with it, so $2,000 for a unique interior. I think it’s a bummer that it’s limited to three exterior colors though. I do love the dark...
See official Rivian announcement:

I thought this was an interesting article for anyone wondering if their favorite discontinued color might ever reappear on a future Rivian product.
IF...
Does anyone else think this is strange? They’re moving the same three prototypes around the country, but deliveries start in June. I guess it will be a super slow rollout? I thought they had “hundreds” of prototypes on the roads. Would those still be testing at this late stage and if not why not...
The Luce is the EV that Apple should have made (Project Titan), minus all of the physical knobs and switches, not Ferrari. Funny that one of the designers was Johnny Ives, Apple’s former lead designer.
The flat pastel colors scream Apple’s iPhone 5C, which was also designed by Ives. Nice...
Nice. 👍
I wasn’t aware that Teslas also had pucks. I might look into some. I usually take the wheel covers off for them too. I’m leasing and if I break them it’s my fault.
They need a defrosting ring around all of the cameras and a spray nozzle to clean them off. Otherwise none of this autonomous stuff is going to work, unless LiDar can really bridge the difference. Does it work well if the sensor is covered in snow and ice?
When I took my Tesla Model 3 to Costco they didn’t lift it either. They used a small manual jack to change and rotate all the tires. Have Tesla done something weird, too?
I get excited when I see a Rivian too. Now I’ve even got my wife spotting them.
Are you planning on getting an R2? If so what trim? I like the new Subaru EVs, like the Uncharted. The styling is great, but I don’t think they have the software that Rivian does.
I really like Renault. I wish they’d sell them here again or even make them in the US. And no I’m not talking about rebadged Nissans. I want their EVs! I like their retro modern styling. Leave it to the French.
I don’t own a Tesla, but I’m leasing a Model 3. It’s a great vehicle, but I identify as a Rivian. I like hiking, rock climbing, and I want to try car camping and light off-roading, like trails.
I plan on leasing an R2 in 2027. I’m not sure which one because the lease deals haven’t been that...
That’s a fair point, but Rivian knows that they have a super loyal fan base. Just look at the Consumer Reports surveys.
“Consumer Reports found that Rivian owners reported being among the most satisfied with their vehicles, praising the driving experience, features, and overall enjoyment...
Uh, the Launch Edition is definitely not going to be available in 2028. Most Launch Editions sell for a limited amount of time, say 6-9 months. Rivian’s previous launch editions sold for around 6-7 months with the R1T LE available in July of 2021 and the R1S available in August of 2021 until...
I read it was because of scaling back the DOE loan. Even though Rivian increased the production capacity of phase 1 by 50% it would appear that phase 2 is a wait-and-see proposition and will not be funded by this initial DOE loan. I think that’s smart on their part, but the market thinks...
Rivian, what the hell are you doing? Make things standard, so we can go to tire shops and other service centers without an issue. If there were an abundance of Rivian SCs then it wouldn’t matter, but there aren’t. Please stop making this proprietary nonsense. Thanks for (not) listening.
