I think there is a balance, but I do love how Rivian is doing generous things as it speaks to a desire to be more than just a typical money-making car company. However, they do need to make some money to survive and thrive. And, it's a SDV, so why are people shocked about a subscription service...
How about you buy a similarly priced MX Plaid for your CarPlay. Oh that’s right, it doesn’t have it either.
Rivian have never said they would support, so maybe you shouldn’t have spent 100k (but in reality you didn’t spend 100k because you were probably a preorder). And if by chance you did pay...
I get some customers want CarPlay in the way children throw their toys out of the cot when they don’t get what they want. But actual journalists and reviewers demanding it is actually dumb. Do they not realise what the Rivian model is? It’s also incredibly short sighted. People fail to remember...
I’m shocked that you’re on this, and potentially other forums, and had no idea about the refresh. Plus your new (to be returned R1S) was discounted which should have made you think about the upcoming refresh. And I don’t at all agree it’s a new vehicle. It’s actually a lower cost (to build), and...
That’s a bit cynical. They have invested a ton of R&D into their quad system so it would be more odd if they walked away from it.
Plus it creates a new, higher-priced flagship for the true believers. And it shares the rear engines with the tri which will be used extensively in R1-3.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned but standard is the only battery moving to LFP, so seems like a super sweet deal. And I thought that Peregrine also included the switchover to LFP but I haven’t heard any confirmation of this on the earnings call. If it did, I would be snapping up any high...
I think it’s a little hilarious Elon was recently doom and gloom about Rivian’s future, hinting at its demise. While Rivian has made some adjustments, Tesla in comparison comes off as manic and desperate.
I wasn't being funny or trolling, I was being honest. After reading your posts and exchanges with Rivian this is my takeaway.
"Simply put, people with a sense of entitlement think the rules don't apply to them ". This is exactly the case here. Rivian doesn't have a traditional dealership model...
I agree with your post but can we please leave RJ out of this. The poor guy has enough to do and worry about and he doesn’t need to be in the weeds, especially in these types of cases.
lol… they HAVE the backing of a sovereign wealth fund AND a prominent billionaire. And no they don’t need private equity to tell them how to run. It’s not a failing retail store or tired brand that needs revitalizing. It’s a company at the forefront of its industry and they have some very smart...
