  1. Not allowed to speak with management? Say what?!!

The vocal majority on this forum that defend Rivian's behavior at any cost is the minority of people that are the target market for Rivian and will not be enough to carry them through the storm. So...as enthusiastic and optimistic people are about the company and their future, it doesn't...
  2. Rivian offering free XPEL Stealth PPF wrap during factory shutdown!! $5K value

It may have been stated already, but the guides have said they had a limited number of them and they are gone (for the R1S) with no more expected to be available (unless someone bails on their confirmation). They also said they are looking to add this as an option on custom orders for $5k (when...
  3. Not allowed to speak with management? Say what?!!

I'm disappointed in those on this forum that defend Rivian's absolutely piss poor customer service. Does Rivian have the right to run their customer service team anyway they want? Yes...of course. Does a customer have the right to talk to a manager? No...but...it is completely reasonable for...
  4. 79% Residual for 24 month / 30K miles for 2024 Quad R1S. $100k MSRP , $1K deposit , $890 payment with taxes

I believe that’s how leases work (unless certain state law applies differently). You pay only the sales tax on the depreciation costs and not the full cost of the vehicle.
  5. Standard + Battery Delivery Confirmed

Curious why you leased the dual standard + versus the quad large? Plan to purchase at the end? The lease cost per month is similar.
  6. Lease Buyout Process?

Do you have the pre price hike voucher? If so, lease then buyout isn’t a good deal.
  7. Lease Buyout Process?

From what I’ve read, if you have the pre-price hike voucher, leasing and then buying is not a good value. You only get the 20% off the depreciation and not the total cost of the vehicle. Not worth it.
  8. Worried about buying a Rivian if the company fails

I think that with the amount of vehicles shipped, the partnership with Amazon and most importantly, the fact that everyone that owns one is seemingly a huge fan and advocate of the product will all contribute to the survival and eventual success of the company. They have some teething issues but...
  9. Cancelled Confirmed Preorder by Rivian - Twice!

TL;DR: Locked in stealth PPF R1S only to have Rivian cancel on their end and now there aren't any more of those vehicles available. Long story: I'm extremely frustrated with Rivian and at the edge of just cancelling my pre-order altogether. The reason that I'm more irritated with this situation...

  11. “Refresh” prediction

I think there are a lot of 21” wheels out there. The issue is the specific tire size (275/55-21). I hope more adopt it. But the first R1T rolled off and was delivered in Oct 2021…and no other option yet.
  12. “Refresh” prediction

I would argue that Rivian would prefer to sell the vehicles made after the factory update to those with a voucher. Post update vehicles will be cheaper to make and likely lower price. That means that Rivian would lose less to those with a voucher after revision. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they have...
  13. “Refresh” prediction

The wheel and tire aren’t a problem physically or structurally. It’s more that there is only a single tire option and it’s pretty pricey. The 20” and 22” are more common and there are more options. So it’s a problem if anyone has an urgent replacement need. Also with only 1 manufacturer that...
  14. “Refresh” prediction

I agree with this almost to the T. I did see someone on Reddit that commented that they had it on good authority that the electro roof thing was coming. Might be a higher trim thing. I think that if they are removing some things and creating more trim options, they will want to make sure they...
  15. “Refresh” prediction

Agree on the wheel options. I think they’ll get rid of the 21” wheel and use the 20” wheel and have an AT and AS options offered. The 21” is a problem for them.
  16. “Refresh” prediction

I thought I just read that the Silverado EV pricing and trims were announced with lower pricing and with significantly longer range. I also think Munro made his statement a while ago…and the landscape has changed. Fisker is all but knocked out, Lucid is on the ropes and Rivian has been beaten...
  17. “Refresh” prediction

See my other response. There is a lot of bad info floating around about this. They have negative CM on average for the vehicles they are currently selling.
