  1. Rivian Technician in Central Oregon

Nobody likes to be told "should have" but it sounds like you should have rejected delivery when the dents were found. But I probably would have done the same as you. There may be some lawyers on this board who can give better answers, but the steering issue and the inconvience to have it...
  2. Music disappointment

Right on. Have had my RIT since March. Love the vehicle but the 2 biggest things i miss from my old ( and much less expensive) Ridgeline are a multi function tailgate and XM Radio. I like listening to live sports and also be able to switch back and forth between my favorite channels - which...
  3. Considering returning the R1S - questions

Interesting. I had some minor fit & finish issues with my R1T and the Portland service center was extremely helpful. Nice clean waiting room and friendly folks who were willing to answer my questions - no matter how stupid. I didn't need it, but they had arranged for a rental car and/or Uber...
  4. Anyone else's truck stop kneeling?

A related question: Does anyone think excessive kneeling may cause unnecessary wear to the suspension? I have a relative with a Land Rover (or some other maintenance nightmare manufacture...) who said he has to send his to the shop at least once a year to have his suspension repaired and parts...
  5. A Rivian buyer got his dream car after a 3-year wait. Days later, the car was dead and he faced a $2,100 bill.

Saw a similar story where an R1T was high centered with no rubber making contact and somehow it was a vehicle defect. I always wonder if Ford & GM are behind these stories.
  6. Conserve Mode: $125 a month tire cost!

Glad i found this thread. I was about to post asking if there was a downside of conserve mode. Sounds like the consensus is it should be only be used in steady state situations in conjunction with cruise control on open highways or if trying to squeeze a few extra miles to reach a charging...
  7. Oregon owners: How long did you wait for your plates & registration from the DMV?

For Oregon owners: How long did you wait for your plates & registraion from the DMV? My guide said to figure 2 months but wasn't sure if that is accurate or not.
  8. Mt Bachelor

Appriciate the input. Unless by some miracle snow tires become available for the 21" wheels i will be springing for a set of 20" by next fall - and possibly real snow tires instead of the AT's. Kicking myself for not researching that before i finalized the order.
  9. Mt Bachelor

Did you happen to make the trip? I am in the same situation as I just received my R1T but have the 21" wheels and didn't want to risk it when I went up Sunday so took the old reliable Ridgeline with dedicated snow tires instead. It was definitely a little slick coming down so I would be...
  10. Oregon North Coast?

I am getting delivery this week of my R1T and spend quite a bit of time in Gearhart. I have NEVER had an issue getting on and off Drive On Beach with my 2007 Ridgeline so I will be really ticked off if I need to call Sons of Beaches to pull the brand new expensive Rivian out of the sand. I...
  11. Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

I am not as handy as most of the people on this thread and am wondering who installed the charger for those who didn't do it themselves? I received an estimate from QMerit for $799 to contract with a local electrician which seems excessive since I already have a 240v 50a dedicated outlet in the...
  12. Charger Delivery After Vehicle?

I am expecting my RIT delivery next month and received the charger last week. My question is actually if I really need it or not? I had a 240v 50A outlet installed in my garage when we built our house, so what is the advantage of the hardwired Rivian Charger over just plugging in with the...
  13. Very disappointing snow experience

I would consider it if it were coming out this year but I have waited long enough.
  14. Very disappointing snow experience

I have just received my purchase email and had similar concerns. I was waiting for the Max Pack but for the added range but that doesn't look promising. My plan is to go with the 21" road tires for the range and just purchase dedicated snow tires locally for winter change over rather than...
  15. Max Pack Orders

Looks like we reserved within days of each other. I am holding out for the Max Pack for "First Half 2023" (June 30th is first half...). I'm in Central Oregon and every trip involves winding mountain passes so I am hoping to get around 300-320 miles without having to recharge. Besides...
  16. Out of Spec Reviews: How R1T handles in the snow

I have never owned an EV so quite a bit of this went over my head. However driving in snow, and more importantly ice, is a huge deal for me. I am in Central Oregon where the average high in December - February is about 38-40 degrees so when it snows it tends to melt and refreeze when the sun...
  17. Don't expect a test drive before delivery

Exactly my concern. Not 6'5" but I want to make sure my fat butt can fit comfortably in the vehicle.
  18. Sonda?

This will be an interesting collaboration as both companies are known for quality products. If they weren't 3 years out from actually producing a vehicle, I would consider putting off my R1T to see if "Hony" would build an EV Ridgeline...
  19. ? RJ's Letter -- Making it Right -- REVERSING THE PRICE CHANGE FOR PREORDER HOLDERS

I haven't dug through all 27 pages of comments, but does anyone know when the price for on the configuration on the website will be updated? Mine still shows the higher price from earlier this week.
