I agree, the Rivian interface is LEAGUES better...
But the lack of text support is beyond frustrating. Maps could use more work, but its improving...
Why Rivian is so late to the text feature is beyond me...
When this is released in 2026 I assume infrastructure will be much better...
Anyone here ever dealt with a generator that sits around? When you try to use them they don't work, and at best need regular service. Gasoline generators are also pretty inefficient, diesel obviously better but...
I love the Rivian UI, but two major gripes...
1. Maps could be improved, and I see progress...
2. ****MAJOR GRIPE**** SMS/Texting in the UI
They really really need a solution for texting while in the car. Its frankly dangerous IMO as my gut reaction is to look at my phone while driving if I...
I own a R1S Gen 1 and drive less than 10k a year...is that when leases make sense? I have never leased a vehicle, and the payments would be essentially equal to what I pay now over the term of the long loan. Thoughts?
I signed up immediately. The folks complaining about it make no sense. If you would like Rivian to continue to update software for a car you have purchased, why should you not pay for it - I believe it even includes a cellular hotpot.
I prefer a semi-SaaS model vs. the stangant tech packages...
Starting to look as well...does the Yokohama come in the appropriate size?

I was kind of defaulting to Michelin LTX M/S2 just because of popularity/name....so not really super metric based...
That would be an option, but thinking slightly better ride, slightly more efficient, and slightly higher weight rating w/ the 275/60 R20's...
The tires are cheaper as well, which is a little less of a concern as a few hundred ofm the couple years I own them is moot...
Yeah, light snow, very light off-road.
I guess the Meta change would be leaving the 22 world and entering the 20” world.
I guess aesthetics just kinda came to mind, I wonder if the 275/60’ will look small compared to the oem 65’s or 22’s w/ more wheel visually
Tempted to change out 22's stock for 20's with 275/60 20's - this would be a wheel and tire change, and also not the OEM tire. Expense is a bit of an issue but leaning towards pulling the trigger regardless of cost. Would be curious for others that have done this or have an opinion...
My main...
Its a huge hole in their system IMO, and a major use case of phone integration. I have often wondered why they have not prioritized such a useful feature, but my sense is the tech is non-trivial. Using Alexa, one would think a number of the pieces are already complete, but outside of Rivian...
Confused what you are complaining about. Public charging? Were you not aware EV require EV chargers, and they are not as prolific as gas stations? Rivian is a startup just building out infrastructure - was that also news to you?
The rant makes zero sense to me...adults make decisions with...
Agree. Of course I waited almost 4 years, many delays, etc. But minus those serious start-up issues, the buying experience was so much better than a traditional dealership once it actually started - online, guide, pick-up, customizations, etc.
Again, I waited four years, some folks, like this...
Some sort of coloring and/or accent for the roofline would go a long way. Looks like a Chevette, which was an awful vehicle. IMO, they could have done ALOT better...perhaps more wheel well arch? IDK, dislike...
What is the deal with recirculate? It seems to change the HVAC behavior a whole lot more than any recirc I have used in previous cars.
When it was 107, I could not keep the R1S cold enough without recirc. That has been the case with 0 cars I have used before.
The HVAC is a major low point...
OK, maybe I should also add it will decrease lack of carplay complaints 40-50% IMO, but agree, if its awful, I might be way overestimating complaint reductions...
Again, it is basic functionality provided by nearly all modern cars and a glaring miss by a tech platform forward company like...
No, I would prefer voice to text while in the car - like most modern vehicles have. Huge miss by Rivian, giant use case for a mobile technology platform, and they know it. Nearly inexcusable IMO, but when competition arrives they'll likely either prioritize, or lose sales. We'll see what they...
