Impossible to say for sure but I have gotten a lot of flats in ev tires the last few years while getting zero flats in the last two decades with other tires and vehicles. I have gotten two punctures in the r1t stock tires so far (less than a year ownership) and my wife has had three pictures in...
Cool shot!
I haven’t done any technical canyoneering to date but as my kids get a bit older I would like to dabble. I have wanted to do Egypt 3 for years and we have done the hike route into the start a few times but haven’t actually done it - last year there was too much water.
My wife is not a big camping fan! She liked the two hotel nights. The first few years it was just me and my older one on this trip.
(A while back I built out a very nice sprinter van and we did a couple month trip in that - my wife still felt like that was roughly it! I mostly backpack...
We were coming from the front range and usually do a few things/spend a night or two at the San Rafael swell on the way down. That made our last fast charger Green River and put Boulder Closer than Escalante. After that we headed down hole in the rock road for a couple nights - did peekaboo...
Took the R1T on what has been an annual spring trip to the Utah desert. This was the one thing we did each year where I wasn’t sure an ev could manage, but with some modifications to our usual plan it went well.
We normally camp the whole trip, but to make it work we had to rent a hotel room...
It certainly seems pretty reasonable to want a recording of something physically hitting your vehicle hard enough to dent any part of it - whatever that object might be - person or car.
Gear guard failed me too. Noticed a modest horizontal dent in the rear end of the rear drivers quarter panel. Happened in the last few days cause I had a photo showing the un dented rear a few days back. Checked footage and didn’t find anything and in doing realized like others that it never...
Sounds like a great trip! They told me not to keep any bedding in the camper. I think the beef bars probably reduced range a decent bit further than just the camper which I believe is how they were testing it. I added mine when I got home and would likely remove them for any long trip.
Well I made the trip to and from Bozeman (Manhattan technically) - coming from Longmont. Everything went smoothly but I gotta say it was the first rv road trip I have taken where charging felt burdensome. That was a function of the fact that I was needing to charge up into the 90s and even...
Got my camper installed today in MT! (Charging on the way home now). Curious - for those that have gotten theirs and if they got the LED light kit - how are you planning to power it? On the one hand using the trucks 12v with the fact that the high voltage will charge the 12v seems better than...
I have a similar issue and experience. Our other car is a model 3 and the locking/unlocking with the phone generally works well. We don’t have garage parking and the R1T when parked in the driveway will unlock when I am moving around inside the house - so even more of a problem then if it was in...
Anyone from the front range made the trip to Belgrade for theirs yet? I am headed up in a couple weeks and was curious about your charging experience around Sheridan WY. ABRP has me charging at a 1 stalk 50kw charge point there. Theirs is a Tesla SC in Sheridan but I think it much be an...
I am heading up to GFC in Belgrade in a couple weeks and the spot around Sheridan WY seems less than perfect. Does anyone know if the Tesla SC in Sheridan is a gen 1 that won’t work for us Rivian’s? It doesn’t show on my ABRP so that’s what I assume. Leaves the single 50kw charge point as the...
Took the truck on our annual elk hunt. Charge point Fast charger in gunnison worked fine. No range issues or any EV handicap was had. Slept in the bed a few of the nights when we were at the trucks while I wait for my GFC install.
I am in Longmont and our cars aren't garaged so hail risk is decently high for me as well. Curious how much strength the stuff adds in terms of stiffness - for hail dent and shopping cart dents and other lighter not impact type stuff. Would have to find a shop that’s good at the stuff too.
