I am reviving this old thread - anyone done or considered linex on the metal of the truck body? Using my truck for construction and taking it on small dirt forest roads small dings and pin stripes are probably unavoidable in the long run. Linex would prevent this largely but would it tank...
Indeed. Thank you. I am mostly concerned with breaking the existing panel with heavier materials shoved against that back wall. I could see replacing it with something sturdier and possibly having the same hatch he used. A sheet of plywood would be easy light and sturdy and okay with a...
That’s nice but for me I load and unload materials enough that I plan to keep the bed fairly empty of everyday carry type items and also don’t want to add any mounting accessory there that would eat up the depth. I do enjoy a set of bed drawers though so might go that route when I have the...
Perfect thanks for sharing. Not quite what I was expecting but makes sense. I can also see that flexing the plastic panel at the bottom like I did won’t damage anything behind it at least.
Curious if anyone knows what’s behind the forward (front end) vertical bed panel? (The one that says Rivian in big letters)
I strapped a planer against it today and saw how flimsy that plastic panel was. I am considering replacing it with something else eventually but was thinking there’s...
This is not at all on the same level but this thread got my attention because after taking delivery of my truck last week I noticed that all six of the bolts holding the spare tire door to the hinges were totally loose (one had fallen off). No big - tightened them up - but it made me wonder what...
I just picked up my truck in Florida and drove it back to CO in about 2 days last week. I also noticed the truck nav didn’t want to use super chargers. I did mostly what Ardvark suggested above and used ABRP and then put the next charge stop into the truck. alternatively I had the whole route...
Does anyone think the widget might keep the car away more - is viewing the widget passively on the Home Screen causing it to fetch the battery status and thus keep the truck awake when it might otherwise be asleep?
Awesome! I did that drive (from Colorado) with a few good friends back in college and have always wanted to do it again. I didn’t imagine it could be done yet with an EV so stoked to hear it can. I particularly loved the stretch through the Yukon.
I do construction and haul tools and materials regularly. I have been using a 6’ bed Tacoma with tall bed cap topper for the last few years. It’s been fine but I also have two kids under 10 and the cab is pretty tiny. I wanted a bigger truck but I also told myself next truck would be an ev...
My context is a 7000 max weight tool trailer with very frequent connecting and disconnecting - shorter trips off highway with max speeds at 65mph - so dealing with bars seems like a non option. Maybe the Anderson would be acceptably quick option?
Yeah I love the area. But I think for us sticking to one spot was helpful for success since I have learned that unit pretty well now.
I am hunting mtn goat in g12 (43 - maroon bells-snowmass) in a few weeks as well so that should be pretty excellent country for late September!
Thanks for sharing. Yeah I am a little worried about exactly what you said - I don’t need the truck to be a distraction. I hunt 54 every year and we will stay fairly mobile until packing in makes sense and end up driving through town at least once normally. If Gunnison gets a fast charger that...
Anyone ever get out hunting with their R1T?
I am a pretty dedicated western big game hunter in CO and will be picking up my R1T in about a week. The only thing that’s been holding me back to going full electric family is that I do a fair bit of remote camping and hunting every year and...
If this proves to be an effective measure I would look at adding a single solar panel to the top of my future gfc camper and a small solar charge control to allow 12v top up whenever there’s sun. Thoughts on this idea?
