  1. R1T Dead Last in EV Pickup Sales

I really hope we are able to drive the R2 before committing. The suspension noise on early R1 is just awful and the main reason I'm trading it in.
  2. R2 body shop almost ready! (factory video from RJ)

Production on that line will begin this year, but saleable units for anyone outside the company will take a while longer.
  3. R2 water fording crossing test (video)

That's a user error. Slow and steady would be fine.
  4. One of a kind: R1T painted in Porche Amazon Green Metallic color

They shoulda replicated the factory orange peel though! lol. Looks great!
  5. Any word on Halloween costume yet?

For Gen 1 it will be a grandfather clock sound to match the tick tock of our half shafts. For Gen 2 it will be a creaky door sound to match the creaking door handles. šŸ˜‚. All in jest.
  6. Any one racked up miles on the OEM Goodyear

Yes, ALL I hear is the suspension now. Lol. Every R1 I've driven sounds the same, unfortunately.
  7. R1S battery degradation

I've lost 2 miles of range per the trip computer in 3.3 years on the large pack. So yours would be excessive. But I just gained 20-25 miles of range putting on the Goodyear tires, so as long as tire tech stays ahead of my battery, not sweating it. ;)
  8. R2 Online Builder Configurator, anyone know when?

I'd say a few months out from production, because Rivian will want to know how much demand there will be for specific configs and options, I imagine.
  9. Half-Shaft issue thread

Yes, I've felt this tiny hesitation as well...very strange. I'm driving my truck like an old grandpa until I can trade for R2.
  10. Any one racked up miles on the OEM Goodyear

Agreed. A bit much. Time value over money on this one for me at the time.
  11. Any one racked up miles on the OEM Goodyear

It’s not the cheapest…but I had been looking at the Michelin Defenders and was gonna be close to the same price so just let SC do it all….the test drive cost annoys me but I did bring it in for an issue with the Pirelli’s that they diagnosed.
  12. Any one racked up miles on the OEM Goodyear

Just did this and alignment has never been better with the Goodyears. With the service center, you know you are getting road force balancing too. Worth the extra money to have the SC do it all. Also, truck feel peppier, if that’s even possible.
  13. The Dreaded Axle Clunk is Back for Gen 1 AND Early Gen 2! But my R1S Now is Better Than New from Factory

On the quad you’ll basically have to live with it. Good news is it doesn’t really get worse. It’s the nature of the Gen 1 beast.
  14. The Dreaded Axle Clunk is Back for Gen 1 AND Early Gen 2! But my R1S Now is Better Than New from Factory

Unfortunately, I’ve had this looked at too many times and as recently as 3 weeks ago had half shafts replaced again. The dual-motor loaner was super smooth compared to my quad…but the clunk in that with the rear motor kicking on with acceleration was just as annoying. I’m just going to live...
  15. R2 rear wiper is stored / hidden in back window trim (patent images)

Says something about a heating element in the patent.
  16. Continual suspension/alignment issues

My alignment has never been perfect...this is with the stock AT Pirhelli's...I just had the SC put on 4 new stock Goodyear 20s and an alignment and now all is right with the world. Drive down to SA SC.
  17. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

I checked with a tire gauge as I knew the truck would need to be driven for the monitor to be updated and accurate. When I got to work the screen had updated to 53/54 as I had let out a little air from each.
  18. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

They were still 56 or 57 all around this morning. Maybe Rivian tech misread 51 for 57.
