Yes its a first year model, but its basically just a shrunken down R1S with a simplified suspension. I bet its more reliable than the R1 line out of the gate. I hope I'm right, cuz I'm very much looking forward to getting away from this air suspension.
I got a few texts and calls from Tony Caravano when I had my paint issues back in 2022 and they swapped me for a new one. Glad to hear they are still helping those that have these wild situations.
I'm no Tesla fan, but I'm jealous of how smooth everything is. The Gen 1 system in my R1T is very slow and laggy...yes, even after a full reset after updates and then re-caching. I imagine a Gen 2 is a little better with the separate processor for autonomy, etc.
Gen 1 quads are hit and miss with tight drivetrains/ tick tocking, etc. Mine is clunky as hell in all facets…half shafts and suspension…and yes they’ve been changed 3 times. I am seriously looking at upgrading for the smoother drivetrain alone of a gen 2. I can’t get Rivian service to...
That's weird. Service center put them on my Gen 1 and said nothing of the sort. They were suprised how affordable they were compared to the Howlrellis, though.
400v is fine for R2 with a smaller pack than R1 as they probably improved the battery cooling system and it may hold a better charging curve. In reality 800v would shave some time off fast charging on road trips. It’s not something that would stop me from buying R2. It would just be nice to...
Yes, they use CCS1 and NACS compatible with adapter, according to early owners. You can also disconnect the trailer and remote control it into the adjacent charging spot, etc, to fast charge it at the same time as the towing EV.
