I'm still over here waiting to hear what the actual range reduction is on the 21s without the aero covers. I can't imagine it's that much but would love to see some real-world tests.
Happy to clarify.
I am hoping for exactly this as I'll soon have a set of 21s for daily commuting and longer non-4x4ing road trips to go with my 20s. Right now it can only be done by Rivian Service but hopefully at some point it can be changed by the owner. I presume some legalese will be...
It's a liability thing. Vehicle manufacturers don't want a chance of speedos reading low and owners suing them to cover speeding ticket costs so they instead put in a slight cushion. Very standard practice in the auto industry. BMWs in particular are notorious for reading quite high historically...
Wow. Some serious updates in here. Still loving the cadence and release notes.
Camp mode is finally here and huge, especially disabling all the sounds and lights and proximity unlock while allowing you to keep BT enabled to play music on the camp speaker. I'll be camping 2 times in the next 3...
My CR-V never once had the caps pop loose in 5 years ?♂️
It could be done similar to the camp speaker which latches using the same anchors as are on the outside of the truck for the crossbars. I don't see those falling off regularly with that type of latch.
Fair but even my CR-V had caps for the crossbars anchors and while I'm not very concerned about the range hit, it definitely whistles from them especially above the cab at higher speeds.
Edit: I had the SC check out the wind noise at higher speeds and they said I didn't have a triangle window...
I'm surprised with it being an EV that there aren't any caps to cover the anchor points on the R1T (and R1S) for the crossbars when not in use. I'm sure it creates some drag, especially when there is a crosswind and it seems to contribute some to wind noise again in particular when there is a...
Good to know on using Conserve for commutes. I've gotten 2.33 mi/kWh with the ATs but I've also done a lot of 4x4ing and plugging in while camping up in the mountains plus I rarely use Conserve and drive it like I stole it most days. Gotta love that thinner air here in Denver!
I look forward to...
Thanks for sharing.
Impressive efficiency on the 21s.
Are you using Conserve for your commute or staying in AP mode?
I'd also be curious to hear if you are seeing a significant difference with aero caps on vs off.
Looks great! I did the same thing a few weeks back and also am a big fan. I figure that in the time the vinyl lasts I can decide if I want them that way permanently then I'll do a PC or like you mentioned they can easily be removed.
Haven't seen this mentioned in any of the 20 pages so far:
Has anyone had an issue where after using pet mode (once briefly as a test), it stays as a notification that pet mode is now turned off? Everytime it passes the 24 hour mark it stays and resets time elapsed. Am I missing something? It's...
Ouch, sorry to hear. That news had to sting. I see you're in Illinois so probably didn't want to take delivery until this month for tax rebate but late this year is an additional 3-5 month delay to that. Yowsers. Hang in there, it's still worth it. Maybe by then you'll be able to get factory PPF.
I'd like the cooled/heated seats to keep the last setting used or turn on based upon temps like my hellcat did. Above 80 the cooled seats were auto on and below 40 the heated seats were auto on.
Auto crack a window for closing the last door then auto close it.
Lowest setting should be geofenced...
You may need to tweak settings on your phone as mine works flawlessly. Unlocks as I get to vehicle and locks when I'm about 10 yards away. BT needs to be continuous and no power saving by OS allowed.
I didn't exactly time it as I was doing other stuff inbetween but it was pretty quick. Maybe a minute a tire if that. From 28 to 48 psi. As it gets closer to set psi it kicks in and out as the air in the tire disperses but it got to the set psi rapidly, maybe 30 sec. Next time I do it, I'll time...
My feelings exactly. Well put. My buddies with their tricked out Jeep, Rover and Montero all were impressed with it as well. I was never the limiting factor of what we could do which says a lot about a STOCK vehicle. Oh yeah and theirs all suck gas and don't go 0-60 in 3 sec nor have all the...
Instructions are in the searchable owners manual. Just type 'camp speaker' and all the related info comes up. Works (mostly) flawless for me. If you're camping but going in and out of the vehicle a lot it can get confused where to play music but to be fair, it's not a mind reader.
I love the...
Great minds think alike.
We were up in the mountains over Memorial weekend camping and 4x4ing with some friends (and our 3 dogs) near Buena Vista.
The only other R1T I ran into was going over Hoosier Pass from Fairplay to Breck. It had 'RVN R1T' as it's plate. Had to be a very early delivery...
