  1. R2 spotted in the wild (video)!

This R2 wasn't really "spotted in the wild". You can't really say R.J. Scaringe "spotted" it. It seems to be a publicity video. It's pretty cool though.
  2. Red Canyon and Limestone Colors Gone for 2026?

I always thought limestone was one of the most popular colors. You see them everywhere. There's one in my carport.
  3. R2 spotted in the wild (video)!

The smaller size is really evident in the video. It moves different and the proportions are different. You wouldn't mistake it for an R1S. The way it flows over bumps is different. It doesn't have the "majesty" of the R1S, which is the whole point. I want to see more.
  4. System message log?

Is there a log to keep track of system messages? There should be. I get this message quite often and I don't know the exact words. It says something like, "System fault found. Adaptive cruise control has been turned off." It happens on a certain road going south on a cloudy day. I just turn...
  5. Stereo starts playing even if muted and volume at 0

You should check the camp speaker. It can do bizarre things. It has its own volume control. Just an idea.
  6. Rivian - Built like a Tank - Full Size Crew Cab Truck vs Rivian R1S Wreck

Utah drivers are notorious for driving bad. I try to maintain a safe following distance from the car ahead of me and somebody always sees a gap and slides into it. Also, I've been getting honked at a lot lately.
  7. Rear suspension damage

Is forklift an "approved" method of lifting the vehicle?
  8. Rivian - Built like a Tank - Full Size Crew Cab Truck vs Rivian R1S Wreck

Sorry, kwik, I don't believe that in this case. Judging by the crumpling in front, that truck was going 30 or 40 miles per hour or more faster than the Rivian. Regen can't do that. That's at a stop sign, grog. It's pretty obvious what happened, and it didn't involve driver assist. DA wouldn't...
  9. First REAL Road Trip! Canada in the Gen 2 R1S

If you want to see lots of Rivians, go to Park City, east of Salt Lake. The OP didn't talk about charging at all (or did I miss it). How is charging in Canada? I imagine the route was mountainous and / or hilly. I don't think an average (What do you call it? Mpk?) efficiency of 2.13 is bad...
  10. R1S repair costs astronomical after a collision, Potential Buyers please do your due diligence

My brother-in-law's Lexus cost $25k to fix. It had front and rear cosmetic damage. He was between two cars. I'm just going to be very careful with my R1T. It can be done. I've never had an accident in 60 years of driving and I lived 42 years in downtown Salt Lake.
  11. 2023 R1T Quad, trip down the Oregon Coast Towing Airstream Basecamp

I'm interested in how much your trailer weighs. I'd say the aerodynamics of the shape helps a lot. It's funny how many trailers have a flat wall in front with terrible aerodynamics.
  12. Moab trip charging experience

I didn't see a new EA charger on the app or anywhere else. The first charging session at Tesla in Wellington started out in the 200's. I thought that was pretty fast. The second session on the way back started at 178 and went down in the 40's as it got over 90 percent. I didn't see a lot of...
  13. Moab trip charging experience

I just returned from a trip to Moab, Utah. It was a fast trip with snow, wind, and cold temperatures. I'm focusing on my charging experience. It's 198 miles from home to Moab and I was pulling a trailer with a Can-Am side-by-side loaded onto it. Rivian estimated the combined weight of the...
  14. Are big wheels not just for toys? Any advantages for big tires / wheels?

What I mean is the wheels look big compared to the size of the car. I'm talking about looks. I wasn't referring to the technical aspects of the size of the rims versus the size of the tires, although that's a good point. I'd also like to say that I like the looks of Kia's latest EV models. I...
  15. Are big wheels not just for toys? Any advantages for big tires / wheels?

This is a new Kia design. We're seeing oversized tires on some new cars. Do big tires have an advantage or are they just for looks. I like Kia's new designs.
  16. I'm in the club!

I use the fob exclusively. I keep a card in my wallet for emergencies. The problem with the card is you have to use it once to get in and again to start the car once you're inside. And getting them in the right place is a hassle. I'd spend the money and get a fob. You need a backup anyway.
  17. So long and thank you

I got the impression you are driving almost 300 miles every day. Wow! Anyway it sort of demonstrates how we are defined by things like our cars or our jobs. I had a reservation for a Silverado EV and I could have ended up with one, except they just weren't available. Their huge size would be a...
  18. California Dune = yellow color?

The photo is from the Rivian web site and the color is California Dune, which has been discussed lately. I am disappointed by the inaccurate representation of the Rivian colors in general on their web site. The actual photos I've seen have been of what can best described as a very light yellow...
  19. Can we start waving???

One day in Park City while driving around I saw 5 Rivians. There must be a lot of them there. The people in Utah that buy Rivians don't seem to see themselves as a part of a distinct group. I gave up trying to signal them by flashing my headlights or any other way.
