Thanks for the clarification. I will be curious how it does for efficiency compared to my 21 inch wheels on my last R1T. I know it will be less but I am thinking not a lot less with the heat pump at least in winter.
We traded our three-year-old 2022 canyon red R1T in on a 2025 tri max yesterday. I think we got one of the last 2025's and it had the promotion with free paint, off road all terrain package and max pack all included. My question for all of you that have had these for a while is the range...
I had the 21 inch for three years and am on my second set. I got just over 40,000 on my 22 R1T with them. My solution is trading in for a new Tri. We are picking it up Monday and it will have 20 inch. :)
Yes it was the only certified Rivian body shop in MN. I do not know if it is on State farms preferred list but it is the only one in MN. The person I talked to at State farm said the claim was handled incorrectly on their end and took it upon herself to get it paid after I called a few times...
I have had state farm for three years and only one claim on the R1T. I just got my truck back today from the body shop. It was a side mirror. Stupid me hit it backing out of the garage. It was a bit of a fiasco they messed up something on there end so it took over a week for the body shop to...
I would have it checked out. I have had a screen go wonky once or twice in my three years of ownership, but a simple soft reset always fixed it. It is similar to a computer if you never restart it, it may start doing strange things or not work correctly or just start to be really slow.
What do you consider on the "colder side". I live in MN and have had my R1T out in -20 and much colder windchill and the screens were fine. Battery got down to single digits one time, so it was interesting trying to charge it. Most of the time it is in a heated garage, but I was out of town...
I did see that. Thanks for the info. Living in a cold climate and driving a lot at times with limited chargers I want road wheels with max range. I think the free upgrade gives you 20 inch wheels.
Thanks for the info. I am a little torn between the Tri and Quad for this reason. The Tri does not come with the underbody and road wheels but is cheaper and the Quad has the cool factor as well as the underbody and bronze road wheels.
I have not done much with my current truck. The one time I did take it out i took a chunk out of the sidewall on a tire (partially my own fault did not air down). I broke off the receiver cover and broke the clips. I will take a look at the underside of the truck tomorrow. The trails/Roads...
Thanks for the input. I currently have a reinforced underbody. I think I would feel better with it. Also, before I do any serious trails I would get rock sliders.
i have a 2022 R1T with 73,000 miles and 21 inch wheels. I am thinking about upgrading to either a Tri or Quad. I drive 99% of the time on actual roads. But for the 1% of the time I want to offroad, how important is underbody shield? For those who are avid off-roaders, a couple spots I have...
I live in MN and have not had any problems in the three years I have had the truck with the button for the tailgate. I do have a heated garage but have used it out and about in cold weather.
Thanks for the info. I will probably need new tires in a year or so. I got 41,000 on the first set of 21 inch Pirellis. I am on pace to get more than that on my second set. I am trying to decide what to put on next: Pirellis, Michelins, or now Bridgestone is available too. I have a 22 R1T.
The positive to seeing these threads again now that it is colder out is that there are still new Rivian's being sold and new EV owners. Three years ago, I went thru that learning curve being a new EV owner. Although I had done research so I understood what would happen in winter with range.
I have seen Budman's graph several times now and it helps new owners understand how cold effects range. I would be curious to see a similar graph for gas mileage on an ICE vehicle. Our Toyota gets roughly 100 miles less range in winter then summer. I try to help people understand that. Many...
I live in SW MN when it is -20 and 40 mile an hour head wind I am only getting about half or a little less then posted range even after it warms up. In the summer and 70 on rural highways I can get the posted range or more occasionally. Definitely a learning curve with EVS. This is my first...
yes, cold does really make a difference in range especially if it is windy. The first 20 to 30 miles are less efficient until the battery and passenger area warm up. It is really not that different then an ICE car for mileage much better in summer worse in winter. Cold weather affects air...
I am at 72,000 miles and have had only a couple small issues. I have 21 inch Pirellis and got 41,000 out of my first set and am on pace to get more than that on my second set. I am going thru tires faster on my Toyota highlander than on my Rivian. It seems this is not typical, so I am...
