Hmm. I am seeing similar behavior with my Rivian charger. Worked perfectly for months and then for the last couple of weeks it stops charging intermittently. Seems to basically go to sleep on the job. Opening the mobile app or the Rivian door will often get it to restart. Obviously this is not...
We had overnight stops in Ashland (OR), Crescent City, Fort Bragg, Sonoma, Redding, Coos Bay, Portland (OR).
Definitely recommend the coast but it could get exhausting if you did it the whole way so I would plan around where you want to spend time first and then figure out the charger situation...
My auto tonneau cover is still working. Perhaps it's just a matter of time but at this point I don't really have cause for complaint. And I certainly don't want to replace it with a manual design as shown. Loss of convenience would be significant.
Can't extrapolate directly from R1T Large Pack range because the Max Pack adds weight so one should expect lower miles per kwh, everything else being the same.
So 0.5kWh/24hr is equivalent to an average vampire loss of 21w. This is power consumption of a small light bulb so maybe not so bad after all.
What is 'Shipping Mode' and how does one enable it?
Rivian Wall charger was a pretty good deal at the original price but they bumped up the price and now there's better options like Tesla and ChargePoint. Some utility providers give rebates for certain chargers so you may want to check that out too.
BTW, unless I'm missing something the...
Today the RAN chargers are open to non- Rivians, right? I saw a Polestar charging in one and there’s no indication that it’s checking the vehicle it’s plugged into.
Note that neither Rivian nor Tesla J1772 chargers qualify for some rebates such as the $500 rebate by Pacific Power in Oregon. More information on that in their FAQ here EVSE_Rebate_FAQ.pdf (pacificpower.net).
That aside, it looks like Tesla's charger is cheaper than Rivians at $550
Didn't get stuck but I was fairly cautious because we had a couple of days of the journey ahead of us and I was not carrying recovery boards. The marked trail was a blast. At one point the trail started to climb in softer sand and I sensed a little slippage. That's where we turned around.
This was low-tech :). Left a gap in the window and rear seat passenger held the pole. If you do discover a good way to secure it I'd love to know because I hope to go back some day.
What numbers would you expect? Some factors that could affect the efficiency:
Speed - we didn't go over 80 mph but there were long sections over 70. Average speed doesn't tell the whole story.
Temperature - Temperature was in the low 40s for much of the journey.
Weight - There were three...
Completed a wonderful 15 day trip down the West from Seattle to the Bay area and back in my R1T with wife and brother as co-pilots. It was the first long road trip. We covered over 2500 miles in early April weather - mix of snow, rain and some glorious spring days. The R1T with 21" tires...
