I agree that it's sad and frustrating. I have had those same emotions every time my date gets pushed back.
If all goes to plan I will have waited 2 1/2 years and I will be on the shorter side of the waits. Based on the OP's date the projected wait will be about 2 1/2 years. Nothing seems off...
Kind of makes sense. The people with FE or BM configured with early pre-orders have already been getting vehicles the normal way. The Shop would end up being heavily tilted toward the early orders with OC since there is no R1S that matches their configuration to actually sell them.
I am...
Mine was April - June and now that section in graphql shows April - May.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the changes for some others, but mine actually makes sense. I would bet they plan on starting Ocean Cost R1Ss in February or March and I would be near the top of that...
I have had contact with a couple of guides. My primary guide has been out on maternity leave for quite some time, but her backup has been very responsive. I don't reach out often, but when I do I receive helpful responses relatively quickly. I hope that continues as I get closer to delivery...
I have no idea if this actually happens or is monitored seriously, but I have spoken with my guide and they have a system to report issues directly to the software team. Assuming you had GG off, I would suggest you send this picture to your guide and ask that it be sent to the software team...
This sucks but it has happened to everyone at some point. There are shops that specialize in wheel repair that can make it look pretty good without major work.
So if the normal ACC (option 2) stops working, you just get no CC at all? That sucks. In rural IA every road is straight and driving at steady highway speeds for 30+ minutes every time I get in the car would be really frustrating without any CC at all.
FYI - I have tested this to the best of my ability by using a crappy Qi charger that barely works with my iPhone, then I stick a thick piece of cardboard on top with the metal ring on that centered over the charger. It grabs the phone's MagSafe ring and charges. I really think this is a simple...
I need a current R1 owner (unfortunately not me) to test something. Clearly if Rivian would just sell me a vehicle I would try it myself, but that may be awhile.
I recently ordered a MagSafe phone holder for the shower. It came with two adhesive-backed metal rings to allow non-MagSafe devices...
Tom - I feel like your work on this over such a long period is worth Rivian paying attention to. Have you reached out to Tony or RJ directly to give them your experience (good and bad) and let them know about what you were able to address? I would think most of your items could be easily...
I am going the vinyl replica route and keeping the real plate in the vehicle. It is not the legal route, but I don't expect to get pulled over because of it and I am at least trying to provide the required information in the required place.
I have no idea who to use, but this is the first...
Wait - this company is actually making vehicles?!?! I just thought I gave $1,000 for the privilege of having an online account with cool pictures and a sweet 'Processing Estimate' header.
Sorry. In all seriousness I love the points made by the OP. I have yet to own a vehicle with zero issues...
Please explain how the quad-motor design creates problems where a mechanical differential creates the solution. From these descriptions it sounds like the regen is creating the problem. Our natural reaction to loss of control is to remove our foot from the throttle, but this creates a locked...
I was told by the XPEL rep on this forum that they had their own people working at a facility just outside the factory in Normal and were starting installs in October of last year. I think I saw one post here with detailed pictures of the front ppf from the factory on a delivered R1T but of...
I did it on a 2011 Traverse LTZ and it looked great when fresh but didn’t wear well on the rocker panels. Road debris really dulled the finish. You would want to ppf it if you do it.
