  1. Selling a used R1T

I would take a look at Autotrader, Cars.com, and here to get a feel. R1T’s seem to be stabilizing, but the market isn’t what I’d call strong…. It’s definitely closer to a healthy, prepandmic used truck market. if you include your build info and location, I’m sure folks here will help you out.
  2. Finally drove an R1S - at the Boston Rivian event yesterday

Rivian sent me an email about it. I had definitely filled out a form about being interested in a test drive or event at some point in the past, but I also have an R1S preorder. So maybe it was that and being near an SC. Not sure how their invite system works.
  3. Running boards and rock rails, what are my current choices (R1S)?

This was definitely an area where folks struggled between our R1T and our BRaptor which is a good bit higher - the included step and rock rail just made all the difference for ingress / egress for normal people (and shorter than normal people), even in kneel mode. Definitely happy to see all of...
  4. “New” Quad Motor R1T pricing is crazy and not sustainable (even if Cybertruck priced higher than original reveal price estimate)

apples to oranges. If you really want performance, feel, and fun - Raptor. It’s just a totally different beast. Totally. There are real reasons to chose either (size, the Earth, noise…), but driving dynamics coming out of the Ford Motorsports group vs Rivian is not the same league. Now...
  5. PSA: Dual Motor & Quad Motor Rivians have different warranties

Between this and their pricing structure it really is as if they don’t want folks to buy the duel motor. Really a bit odd from where I’m sitting to draw this long term distinction, but I guess we’ll learn more about their long term quad motor plans at time goes on.
  6. Where and how would you sell?

Since we’re having a discussion, and not selling… after a year, and with 10k miles, how much do you really think the market will bear? I’ve been watching the second hand R1S’s on the National market and it seems folks are still holding on to some high # dreams, but most aren’t moving and most...
  7. F150 Lightning gets nearly $10K in price cuts

Ford has factories that they can only build Lightnings in. They have lots full of lightnings. They have entire systems putting back pressure on these factories because no one is buying. This makes total sense as they’re already losing their shirts on their EV business and playing a very long...
  8. Finally drove an R1S - at the Boston Rivian event yesterday

So I went down to Rivian's event yesterday in Boston to see an R1S in person. Of course I'd seen a bunch of them when I had my R1T serviced, but I hadn't really jumped in, looked at the back, and gone through one before - and most importantly, I hadn't driven one. So I figured I'd RSVP and...
  9. From a former Jeep and current Bronco owner

I just updated my actual data which does make this worse, but no where near your example data. Let's dive in. Rivian - actual efficiency 1.7miles/kW. Crazy driver? Maybe. Horribly wasteful phantom drain every day, yes and electricity costing $0.27 here with no break for time of day charging...
  10. From a former Jeep and current Bronco owner

So a few bits of non-bench racing. R1T with 20's and all the off road goodies, a 392XR, and a Braptor went into a bar ... I mean my garage... :) Electrons are expensive where I am, and man, gas isn't. So the cost differential between our R1T and our BRaptor for 10K miles - including oil...
  11. Monetizing Data & Services: Interview with Ford Advanced Product Development Cheif

Have you all read the contract you signed when you bought your R1’s? These terms are all about monetizing the crap out of you / us and you owning as little as possible and granting them as much access as they want to you and “your” data. They are all banking (literally) on connected services...
  12. Rivian R1T Frustration

Most manufacturers don't have increases this big, but fancy special trucks definitely do. We paid $79,680 for the Bronco Raptor in my profile pic The same truck today, one model year and not even 10 months after I took delivery, MSRP's for $98,570. Prices are bonkers. That's a 23.7%...
  13. Rivian R1T Frustration

Do not accept the truck that needs to be repaired. Hard pass. Return. If they won’t let you back in to get another from the shop, walk. It’s just a truck, and frankly, that they would let that leave the factory is further proof they have some real work yet to do.
  14. Thuren wheels + 35" inch Falken Wildpeak R/T tires on Glacier White R1S

Do you have any pics straight down the side so we can see any poke of this pairing? thanks!
  15. Second R1S vs launch R1S -Positive changes!

As we wait for our R1S (supposedly by EOY), this does make me happy to see. Our R1T was good, but not great. So many near misses. As much as I loved the *look* of the 20AT’s, I know now that the 21’s are a better choice for us ( we have the Bronco Raptor when we want to go off-road) for...
  16. Rivian R1S First Drive from a car guy / Raptor owner

I didn't view the original post as particularly negative, but there's definitely a gap between the spin machine of all the reviews, videos etc and what the reality is for some drivers. After waiting this long with your hopes up, and other cars, trucks and whatever actually arriving, that delta...
  17. Silverado 450 Miles of Range

With the cost of electricity here ($0.267 /kWh) that Chevy is going to be a *very* expensive truck to actually live with. My R1T was expensive enough, those numbers might have more range, but the per mile cost sends shivers down my back.
  18. Got Rear ended and asking for insurance advice

Take great before and after pictures and keep all records. Do not trust Geico as far as you can throw them…. You’ll take some hit, likely, but with great documentation it shouldn’t be that bad. This is a truck after all, not a high dollar car with diminished value evidence that you can point...
  19. Ben Sullins: Rivian R1T After 1 Year - Would I Buy it Again?

I definitely went through a phase where I was ticked about no CP/AA, but unlike Ben here, I knew what I was getting into. This is not like when we bought our brand new Pacifica back in mid 2016. We were promised CarPlay in a software update after our purchase (2017 model year, brand new model...
  20. “75% of R1T and R1S customers are new to EVs…” says Rivian

R1T was my first truck and first EV. Definitely will not be my last of either as it was an absolutely amazing gateway drug.
