  1. Vent, B!tch & Moaning for the mis-"Guided"

I too am thinking about the F150 hybrid. And holding off for the same reasons. The Rivian size seems more maneuverable in tight city spaces.
  2. Estimated time wait if ordering now?

I’m also considering Rivian vs other options. I plan to wait until September for a test drive. If I can get a test drive by September, it is a good sign that I will have a truck sooner than later. No test drive and I will probably switch to the F150 hybrid. As long as Rivian stays in business...
  3. Who will get theirs first?

I live in Washington as well. Hoping there is a 3rd party solution for service... Don't really care where I have to go to pick it up.
  4. Is it normal to buy a car sight unseen (not driven)?

I’m less worried about buying sight unseen as no idea how it will be serviced.
  5. WA bill to allow direct sales appears dead (again)

I’m ok picking up a car in Portland or being dropped off at my house. However, there needs to be a service plan in Seattle or this is a no go for me. Under existing law, how would a Rivian be serviced in the Seattle area?
  6. (re)Charging etiquette

I always keep my Tesla charged to 90%. At first I kept it at 80%, but sometimes an impromptu trip happens and waiting to charge is no fun. Charging to 100% before a trip every couple of months is supposed to be a good thing since it balances the pack. In 6 years I have lost about 7 miles of...
  7. Whats the R1T/R1S expected Reliability?

I'm ok with reliability problems. Just make sure you have plenty of staff and stuff to fix things. Waiting weeks for appointments and coming back multiple times for parts is not fun.
  8. Whats the R1T/R1S expected Reliability?

Tesla has this figured out: Door handles that break at $1k each, sunroofs that leak, onboard charger fails, main motor replacement, too small of memory card for endlessly adding easter eggs, not letting CHADEMO adapter owners know they need to upgrade firmware before a road trip...
  9. What If?

My experience has been better than yours, but bad enough to only own one Tesla at a time. Friends’ Teslas are somewhere between your experience and mine. Our Volvo XC90 is 120,000 miles and 13 years of near perfection. It is so reliable, I am afraid to replace it. Service is always done the...
  10. More charging joy (via VW software)- Rivian, please get this right!

Tesla isn’t as great as the video describes. Finding a broken supercharger is common. There is 20-30 seconds of uncertainty when you wonder if the car will charge or not.
  11. [Video added] Forest Green R1T @ Georgia Capitol Building to support HB460 (direct to consumer sales)

I wonder in the car is allowed to be in drive or reverse with the gear tunnel doors open. Seems like it could end very badly for the door, another car, or a pedestrian if it was left open. At the same time, a malfunctioning sensor switch keeping you from driving home would be awful too.
  12. Add on packs for extra battery capacity

I’m glad we saved the money on our first EV. However, going all EV we need something that we can go camping deep in the mountains. 300 miles for both in and out is not going to cut it. Having a vehicle with amazing off road specs but no power does not make sense either. As someone who has...
  13. Video discusses Rivian's Prime Charging: RAN (Rivian Adventure Network) with some ABRP options

Most of us are going to be lucky to get 50kw unless the non-Tesla manufacturers get together and compete with Supercharging. I’m getting 400 mile rand to avoid fast charging altogether.
  14. AC 110V power outlet

Thanks for checking, there were rumors of 400 watt limit.
  15. Questions about range 300 or 400 mile?

I’m personally holding out for the 400 miles, we are going all electric. BC has much better CCS charging than Washington state. Not sure about your part of Canada. Check out PlugShare.com. Over 6 years our Tesla has lost 2.5% of its range and 30% of the fastest charging current at a...
  16. What If?

I dread Tesla service and reliability. Takes weeks to get appointments. Repairs take days or weeks. Parts are hard to come by. Minimal communication. Never know when car will be ready. They don’t always have a way to make sure your car is fixed. I always have a backup rental reserved for the...
  17. What are you currently driving? (Glamour Shots)

I’m not seeing many trucks? Has Rivian found an untapped market?
  18. Rivian confirms POWERED tailgate has now been KILLED

Will there be a remote release? That covers me 90%
  19. How much would you invest in a Rivian IPO?

I usually like to wait a couple of months after IPO. Some IPOs don't go that well... Peleton, WeWork, Uber, Lyft. Minimizes the risk, even when buying really great companies. I wish the best to Rivian and am really looking forward to the R1T.
