  1. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

Oh, man. I guess I’ll have to work on that. This whole Comma thing just keeps getting crazier. I’ll be glad when it is all sorted out. BTW, I do have the 8Āŗ wedge. FWIW, this is a local street that I regularly travel. It is a 45 mph zone leading into an arcing corner with a recommended corner...
  2. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

I ditched WMlv12. It was horrible. Went back to Down to Ride v6. Just got back from another 40 miles round trip in the mountains. This road was a little less demanding than my previous reported drive. On the tighter corners I still had the take over, as it would crowd/cross the middle divider...
  3. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

I don’t think I made myself very clear on the turns. This was a wide, 2-lane, mountain highway, with sweeping turns. Posted speed limit 45 mph, while most are doing 50+. To stay in my lane, I would have likely had to slow to about 25 mph. I would have been run off the road.
  4. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

I tried Down to Ride v6. It was good (love MADS) but pretty lethal on mountain roads. It failed at sweeping 90 degree turns, often crossing well over the center line on left turns and nearly off the road on right turns. It just didn’t want to stay in its lane. So, I decided to download WMlv12...
  5. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

I agree with your assessment of the stock staged Sunnylink. I just installed my Comma 4. I drove around some with Open Pilot. It handled lane centering and corners very well. I then installed the Sunnylink version and it was noticeably worse. It seemed to be a tad late in initiating corners and...
  6. The OEM Jack: Good Enough or Risky?

Did not know this about removing the panels to access jack points. I am going to have to try this. It might be a little safer. Thanks for pointing this out.
  7. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

Bingo! That worked using the main camera. I just never thought of that. Now, it’s just a matter of figuring out all the Sunnylink settings and how to make it work. Thanks, again, for the incite and help.
  8. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

iPhone 13 Pro. Hmmm. Never tried to read a QR code with the regular camera. We’ give it a try.
  9. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

My QR code reader doesn’t zoom like a regular lens. I’ve tried every whichaway I can, but no luck.
  10. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

Well, I got my Comma 4 installed and running. What a colossal PITA. Spent a couple of hours just trying to get it plugged into the AXM. I knew where the recepticle was but for some reason coudn’t make the connection. Besides the documented tricks to make for easier access and making the bend In...
  11. The OEM Jack: Good Enough or Risky?

The jack type to use is certainly up for debate. For me, the real issue is the whole jack puck system that Rivian employs. It’s just darn scary. If the jack moves much, at all, it can wrench the jack puck right out of its hole, causing the truck to crash down onto the jack, as the puck goes...
  12. Knocking Suspension Noises

My Gen 1 R1T can thunk around pretty loudly when making turns on even slightly irregular road surfaces. This is coming from the rear. It’s the one thing that really annoys me about my rig. I had the rear shocks replaced last fall, as they were leaking, and the racket sounded and felt like...
  13. Comma Ai / Comma 4 drive on unmapped roads (video)

I just got my Comma two days ago. Haven’t installed it yet. I am waiting for when I have a day. Having said that, I did a little of the preliminary work and it is obviously not a 15 minute job. I wouldn’t want to dive in with short deadline/trip ahead, then have something go wrong.
  14. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

I get my Comma 4, tomorrow. Let the games begin šŸ™‚ Hope all goes well. I think I will have your same setup, minus the longitudinal upgrade. May get that later. We’ll see.
  15. Had to replace 12v battery on Gen 1

I have a ā€˜23 R1T (9/23 delivery). I never have had any issues with my 12v. However, in January of last year, when there seemed to be a lot battery issues running around, I called my SC to inquire as to whether I qualified for a battery replacement. After doing some checking, it was determined...
  16. Bridgestone Dueler Ascent A/T (SL) Thoughts

I have the Ascents in LT 275/65-20 on my ā€˜23 R1T QM. I have about 1800 miles on them. So far, they have been great! They are very quiet (so far), handle well, and any range hit has been negligible šŸ™‚, compared to the OEM SL Pirellis. Having said that, coming off 21’s, there will surely be a bit...
  17. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

Thanks. I knew that it wasn’t going to be pretty because of error codes. But, it is good to know that, if need be, it could be driven.
  18. Center Display -- Wasted Space?

Personally, I don’t have a problem with center power display. However, considering there is a fair amount of wasted space on this display, why the hell did Rivian decide, with the latest software update, to reduce the font size on some key info, like the efficiency data in the trip meter? I...
  19. Gen 1 R1 + Comma 4 The Ultimate Value Play.

Expecting my Comma 4 by late next week. So, here’s a question. So, I get the Rivian harness removed from the AXM okay, but have trouble getting the Comma harness installed into the AXM, in a timely manner. At this point, is the car inoperable? I’m assuming so, but maybe not. Yeah, I know. What’s...
  20. Siri can now interact with the app on an Apple Watch

This feature is not new. I’ve been doing this for a long time. Just create an Apple short cut. With the Apple Watch, I don’t even need to beckon Siri. I just lift my wrist towards my face and give whatever command. In this case, I just say ā€Unlock Rivianā€, ā€œlock Rivianā€ or whatever. I use this...
